“We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. “I liked the design of the room, amenities and the A/C worked perfectly in the greatest heat outside. It was moden and quiet inside the room. Our windows were facing the car park and motorway services, so occasionally a noise from cars could be heard. But we slept well and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom could do with some restoration soon, as signs of wear could be visible. But overall for the price we paid and convenient location it was a very good choice.”

“A lovely property with tasteful decor. All the staff are very pleasant. Palm Court restaurant was really nice, and the gym and swim facilities were good. The Sunday carvery is excellent and complimentary products in the room a nice touch. Not a lot of seating in the bar if wanting drinks only, most of it is for eating. Similarly, car parking is at a premium with a wedding on. Changing rooms are quite small, and could do with a spin machine for drying trunks (many have these now).”

“The bed was very uncomfortable!!! It dipped in the middle so it was quite difficult to lie flat. The balcony only had one seat on it but, as we couldn’t get the door open anyway, that wasn’t a problem. I didn’t take a shower cap with me as I expected the hotel to provide a selection of toiletries. It didn’t. “Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate. Location is two minutes away from Railway station so very good for transport links. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, polite and attentive. “The staff were very welcoming even when we arrived very late (23:50) somewhat wet and bedraggled after a horrendous drive in the rain up the M6. We were met with an understanding smile and given clear directions to our room. The room was clean and warm with a comfortable bed. The room overall was a little tired. We would be happy to stay again.”
