Property had plenty of space and was close to downtown. Definitely stayable but not comfortable. Place was a bit rundown, holes in bath and shower, doors that wouldn't stay shut, old kitchen with missing handles on cupboards. Biggest problem we had was with the heating. There was no heaters provided in bedrooms and when i asked the owner for heaters she confronted us in accommodation and spun a tail about heaters not being legal in bedrooms and how another Strahan man died because of a heater in his house burnt it down, so we should just use electric blankets. I explained that I have asthma and cold air triggers attacks but she still couldn't provide a heater. I coughed all night. Also I googled it, there are no laws about heaters in hotels, and there was no news article about a man dying in a Strahan housefire. All other hotels in our 3 week Tasmanian stay were able to provide heaters. No wonder the property is up for sale.
