No Problems

The rooms were fine. Self catering is questionable as facilities are minimal. One of the best WiFi services we found on our travels. A good base for exploring the area.

Average motel

We have stayed at this motel on three previous occasions. The new owner is very friendly and helpful but the motel itself is in need of an upgrade and more detail needs to be given to daily room service......all minor things which individually would not have been a concern.....milk provided expired on day of arrival.....2 shampoos in the bathroom but no shower gel.....coffee not replaced. Also wifi was non existent in our room and there was a very poor range of TV channels. Compared with other motels stayed at recently. The motel is right on the main road with a continuous stream of heavy trucks passing through at all hours. The daily rate of $166 appeared to be high.

Not Bad, Would Stay Again.

The motel is well situated for driving to any of the activities or other towns/cities in the area, a good base to use as a starting point for your visit. The motel is a little older but is updated to a nice standard, found the room size very good and the shower/bathroom to our liking. The office is situated inside an beautiful older established home. It has established trees and a few barbecue type tables for your use to enjoy the gardens. Yes it is on a main road but very little noise is heard from the passing traffic. All in all a good place to stay if you find yourself in the Taranaki area.

Everything you need for a comfy stay

Nice, clean motel and fitted out with good quality everything. Bed nice and comfortable. Friendly welcome. Good location - nice little walk into town. A bit of noise from the main road, but we're from the country so not used to noise at night.

Stratford comfort

Our stay in the 2 bedroom unit was excellent. An older style motel unit which has been modernly upgraded, has very good facilities and is extremely clean and tidy. Can recommend Colonel Malone's Irish pub for a very good meal and the Shaky Pear cafe at the Pioneer Village for breakfast or cafe style food.

We stayed on two separate nights and were given excellent service each time. The rooms were in excellent condition and well equipped. The hotel is in walking distance of the town.

Convenient for New Plymouth

We were attending an event in New Plymouth and, having left our accommodation booking very late, had had to find a room further away. When we arrived, our welcome was very friendly and efficient. While the motel is not very exciting from the outside, it was a lovely surprise inside. The rooms were very clean, well set out and comfortable. The bathroom, in particular, was excellent. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed a very good night's rest. We would certainly use this motel again.

Wonderful! Small motor lodge with big heart! Great room. Easy access to what we needed. Clean and well-maintained. Visit the Nelson Cafe for breakfast!

Convenient motel on main road.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and had a lovely shower. The day was chilly, so the staff had put the heater on so the rooms were warm on our arrival. The staff were lovely, friendly people and we enjoyed our stay completely.
