Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"The hotel is very pretty and picturesque. Housekeeping and the rest of the staff were very friendly and polite. Reception was the exception. Nothing major, but when we arrived, staff weren't sure about simple things like parking or whether we could use the business centre, and kept having to check with each other. A smile and a warm, friendly greeting would also go a long way. It's the first impression guests get, so it's a shame it didn't match the rest of the stay. The air-con in my room also wasn't working, and it was unusually warm for September. I appreciated the fan, but with the windows barely opening, it was just circulating warm air."
Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon by IHG
8/10 Good
"No issues with the room or the cleanliness, I reported that the iron in my room was not working, the staff member sent to replace it was not courteous, just handed me the replacement. Obviously no training in hospitality."
