"Room was spacious, very clean, and provided a lot of comfort overall. The breakfast was hot and lots of choices. We enjoyed a beverage while we waited for our dinner order (to-go) at a the Winward restaurant/bar on the top floor. The bartender was very attentive and engaging. The fitness room it excellent for a hotel, I was able to get in a full workout with a great view. Most of the staff was excellent, however, during our check-in and throughout the remainder of the day the front desk clerk (Curtis) was not very friendly. He seemed like he hated his job. Not friendly, never smiled, didn't engage in conversation, and throughout the rest of the day as we passed by he was just sitting scrolling on his phone. He wasn't unprofessional, just didn't present well to us as guests, rather seemed like we were bothering him by having to check us in. All other staff were very friendlly and helpful throughout the remainder of our stay. Will definitely be back."
"This was my second stay in a week - I was traveling to Ontonagon and used the hotel as a stopover on both ends of my trip. This stay was marginally better than the first stay because the criminal element that had been present on the first evening were no longer around. As previously stated in my initial review, the staff were as accommodating as they could be. They were friendly and professional. As with my previous review for the earlier stay, the same goes for the amenities concerning breakfast, beds being uncomfortable, etc. The place was clean, so that's a plus. I stayed this time around only because I had already previously booked before staying the first night.
As previously stated, while the staff were nice, I will not likely stay here again."
"The breakfast left a lot to be desired-they ran out of plates-when we asked for some, they said because of the power failure last week, they ran out. The food was only replenished when we asked for it-it still had the eggs from the day before. I will say the staff was very nice and helpful."
"The room and amenities are very basic. Nothing fancy but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s located in the heart of the city but there was only one time that a car noise was an issue. Within walking distance to restaurants, shopping, etc. coffee in the room and extra towels were available after the first night."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cadillac by IHG
6/10 Okay
"We had a multi-night stay in Cadillac.
Hotel rooms are dated; but they’re currently working on a remodel. The pool room is definitely in need of a renovation- the hand rail on the right side of entering the pool isn’t even attached to the cement anymore.
Our shower was not only unclean, but after cleaning it we found out it didn’t drain so they said they would move us to another room with a working shower. We had a lot of stuff and had to move it ourselves and we didn’t get an upgrade or discount or anything for our troubles with that situation. We moved 2 doors down and within a few hours new people were moved into the room - without them fixing the shower.
There were so many kids without supervision (lots of running up and down hallways and yelling) that we couldn’t sleep well and the kids were so unruly in the pool room we couldn’t enjoy that either.
The breakfast is hot, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to taste.
However, the staff is wonderful. Ameara was very welcoming and accommodating and offered to take pictures of our group and was just a lovely individual who is doing her best. She made our stay as good as it could be. "
