"Great Value Resort with a Fun Water Park
This resort was an excellent value for our family road trip through Jeolla Province. While there are now many newer resorts and water parks in Korea, this place still offers a great experience for the price.
Helpful Tip for International Travelers: Most Korean water parks and hotel pools require proper swimwear and some form of head covering, usually a swim cap. Many places will also allow a baseball cap or rent you a swim cap for a small fee. If you plan to use the water park, come prepared to avoid any inconvenience. Also note that water park and bathhouse access requires an additional fee like $20 for bothe access to water park and bth house, which i find it very fair value.
The resort has beautiful mountain views and good amenities. Our room included a basic kitchen with cookware and utensils, making it easy to prepare meals. There are also restaurants on-site.
Although the resort is older, the rooms appear to have been updated recently and were comfortable and clean. The water park was plenty of fun for our family, and overall I would rate the experience 9 out of 10 for value alone.
Even if you don't use the water park, this is still a worthwhile stop for travelers passing through the area.
As a bonus, there is a dinosaur footprint site nearby, known for having one of the highest concentrations of dinosaur footprints in the world, making for an interesting side trip during your stay."
"This hotel is in a great location in the middle of the ACC shopping district and close to the city square and art district. Lots of tragic history to learn about right across the street at the 5.18 archive. If you’re from the US, you have to try the LG clothing styler! It’s an amazing appliance!"
"We really enjoyed our 6 day stay. The washing machine and air-con worked so well. There were no strange noises and the coil bed was so comfortable. We slept well every night. The bathroom had a bidet which was helpful. The room itself was probably the usual size here but for us it just was enough. We had 4 bags and we had to shuffle things around whenever we opened one. Although no laundry detergent nor kitchen detergent (we supplied our own) it was still good. We also went to local Daiso (best stocked one so far on our trip) at Lotte Mart MAXX across street for done light camping dishes and cups (we brought our own chopsticks). Lotte Mart was also good for discounted sushi and sashimi after 7:30pm! The hotel loaned us a clothes dryer rack which was really appreciated. Our room was high up but try to get a room above 16 because those higher floors had 2 lifts whereas ours had only 1 lift and that meant we had to wait a bit sometimes to go up or down. I liked that you could open the tilt window to let in fresh air but we didn’t do that much. They provided 2 bottles of water every day and were able to clean our room daily if we wanted them to. Our toilet blocked twice during our stay but they have a janitor on call and he sorted it out within 10 mins. I think the first time was due to batteries going flat in the bidet remote controller as I saw him change the batteries (controller controls flushing). No toothbrushes but we had our own ones. Lots of good Korean restaurants too."
