“We found the breakfast super healthy and surprisingly filling. Fruit and natural yogurt supplied. The indoor/outdoor shared area we liked very much. You look out towards the base of The Nut and there right before you is a little water fall and pond with gold fish in it. Use of local stone and brick created lots of ambience in a rustic kind of way. My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay very much. Kerry and Alastair have put a lot of time, energy and thought into creating this little oasis....

“What a great place to stay. Rhonda and Chris were fantastic hosts. Our room (Admiral Room) was lovely, great views, plenty of space and close to everything with a view of The Nut along with a cooked breakfast in the morning make this a must stay in Stanley. ”

“Seriously the best stay ever. Leonie and Tim were so accommodating and great to chat to. The most comfortable beds, beautiful views, heated bathroom floors and overall very clean and tidy. We only stayed for the night but it was like home away from home-- would highly recommend if you're looking for a personal, comfortable, and cozy stay just outside of Hobart. 10/10, hope to come back here one day!”

“Rathmore was everything we had hoped for a tranquil weekend escape. We stayed in the Shearer’s Quarters, separate from the main homestead and very private, with delicious meals delivered by Cally - the lamb ragu was a favourite, highly recommended. Both hosts, Richard and Cally, encouraged us to wander the historic property, which felt a little like stepping back in time to a more peaceful era. We even saw one of the dam’s resident platypus!
