It was as expected. A traditional country pub with 3 letting rooms. Lovely staff.

Disastrous

Hotel was closed . They took the payment but didn’t bother to say they were closed. It’s 3 days later and I still haven’t heard anything about a refund . I have already phoned up twice and been told I’d be rung back with nobody having an idea of what a solution would be .

Friendly pub with lots of character.

The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The food here was excellent, both evening meal and breakfast. The only downsides was the old mattress on the bed which made for not the best nights sleep. The room was really quirky and well maintained.

Staff fantastic. Ate in the pub for dinner on night of arrival. Food was excellent, especially breakfast. Quirky bedrooms with modern bathrooms, immaculate. Would recommend and will return.

Good comfortable room. Decent food and cider. Location tricky to find by factory. Room quiet and air conditioning

COVID stay

The hotel was comfortable and the room clean, however, the management / reception were not enforcing rules for the wearing of face masks in communal areas of the hotel. This is not acceptable, will not be staying again. I did eat in the restaurant the food and service was good quality.

Friendly welcome. Beautiful room, great shower all spotless. Only the location stops me giving 10/10, (busy road, industrial estate next door) didn’t affect our stay just loses that country pub feel when you arrive

Disappointingly small room.

Although we booked 6 weeks prior to travel, we were only offered one double room, ( no photo) which turned out to be very small and claustrophobic. We since learned that this was the Shrewsbury and was very much smaller than the Hereford (which we now know had already been booked) The hosts assured us that this was what had been booked via Expedia, and the Hereford was booked for both nights, so we could not change. This spoiled the weekend for us. The Shrewsbury was as nice as it could be for its size, fresh & clean and with a lovely, modern en-suite with excellent shower. The food was good "pub grub" (albeit not cheap) where we prefer something a bit more upmarket. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, and the breakfasts were superb. Overall, it just did not meet our expectations.

Lovely dog friendly pub with great food

Immaculate, cosy dog friendly room. Even though it was on the ground floor on a Saturday it was very quiet tucked away in the corner and we had an excellent sleep. Really lovely relaxed breakfast with lots of choices. We will return if in the area again. It was a really friendly relaxed local with good pub food.

Traditional pub with B&B facilities. It has all the usual pub amenities, friendly staff, good food and welcomes dogs.

The property is a quaint old village pub and that is the heart and centre of its appeal. Staff and welcome was absolutely first rate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

This hotel was all it said on the tin. old ,quirky, sloping floors and beams in the rooms but outstanding quality. old meets new and you will want for nothing. Looked after by staff from start to finish and the food was plentiful and outstanding. Both breakfast end evening meals had an excellent choice and lots of it. Good choices of beers and the wife loved the choices of Gin's Looking forward to going back in the future

Pleasany enough

This is a very old pub on a country road, staff all friendly. Not surrounded by open fields but a factory but with triple glazing it was very quiet. Strange drainy smell possibly from the factory.

Two day break at the Rose And Crown

Our stay at the Rose and Crown was excellent. The room was very large and comfortable with an excellent en suite which had a very large shower. The staff were all very amenable. The food was excellent,with a very large choice, there can't be many B&B,s who serve up smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast! and the dinner menu was very good and importantly, good value. We will certainly be visiting here again

Comfortable pub - good food

Stayed for one night after a wedding. Friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Food was good and a very good selection at breakfast for a pub. Overall the Rose and Crown is perfect if you need bed and breakfast and a comfortable night's sleep.

Weekend get away.

The hotel is charming and full of character. Everthing you would expect from a family owned country pub. Meals are excellent and Chris and Sarah and their staff are friendly and very accommodating. We had a very nice weekend and would stay here again.
