Be sure to go to an outfitter first. Go early because it's hard to find parking even in the off season

Busy, but still beautiful
If we can do it, you can do it. You can venture into the river for any distance you want and then turn back. Bring a walking stick for being in the river. As they say, it's like walking on bowling balls. The trail to the river entrance is paved and easy and there are many places to go down to the river along the trail.
Take the Zion Canyon Shuttle to the last stop and explore the breathtaking scenery at the northern end of the canyon.
Admire the lush greenery on the banks of the winding Virgin River and glimpse the unusual hanging gardens of Zion.
Enjoy the mountain views and explore Zion's Observation Point, a lovely green space in Springdale. Stroll along the riverfront or seek out the hiking trails.
