“Stayed 1 night in a “deluxe” room, the experience started well with the unusual arrival via a short ferry and the drive through the private island, but sadly the luxury experience ended as soon as we had parked up and headed for check-in. “The grounds are amazing and the Castle is beautiful from the outside. We were not allowed to enter the castle because it was rented out for our entire stay. We stayed in the Lodges which would have been nice had some issues been addressed. First off the doors were left open when we got there, front and back, so we thought maybe we were in the wrong place. The hot water lasted 5 mins and never came back. Main bedroom door leading outside was broken and would not shut. Had a chain holding it...

“We arrived very late (as in seven the next morning) due to ferry problems. Desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly on the phone and in person.”
