“Late June (cold winter) 2025: Very Good (and new) hotel that is centrally located. Market is 3 minute walk and restaurants a 7 min walk - neighborhood is safe to walk in at night; has fast WiFi; heat in room via an electric heater (ask for it); good bed and blankets: my wife and I were warm overnight - no need to sleep in extra pajamas (compare with Puno); TV worked fine. “The worst “hotel” imaginable. Staff have no idea what they’re doing. No wifi (i mean who needs wifi). I was told to be ready at 6 am sharp for transport to the city. It never came. The hotel reception said that in Peru when we say 6 am we really mean 7 am. Unbelievable. I only woke up at 5 am and was there 15 minutes early. I had to hitch a ride with another couple’s driver (pure luck) to get to the city, My driver is still probably on his way. The worst part is in my haste I left behind my hat....
