"Wonderful customer service and the aircon was a welcome relief in the heat. The property was in OK condition and the cleaners were so considerate and helpful.
Breakfast was OK with fresh tropical fruits, eggs, toast, juice and coffee.
Having the restaurant onsite was great when we just wanted to stay in. TV reception was terrible so we watched movies on our computer which wasnt a problem as the internet was fast (unlike in the villages where reception isnt great).

"This was a last minute booking made when our preferred booking was cancelled, after being confirmed more than three months earlier, apparently due to overbooking??? On arrival, the toilet was broken and dirty. The room wasn't secure as a window locking mechanism was broken. And, for most of our stay the internet wasn't available. "We went to the Royal Sunset with 6 of our Tongan young friends who help us at a humanitarian clinic we work in. We are leaving Tonga and wanted to thank them for all they do. "We loved our stay here. We loved the simple Tongan style accommodation. There are only 3 fales set in beautiful tropical gardens where guests are allowed to pick their own pawpaw and coconuts. It is private, secure and quiet, set beside the best snorkelling beach in Tonga with the use of kayaks. The coral is amazing to the right of the beach but you need to be careful to go when it’s calmer and lower tide. We saw whales swim past from the

"Fantastic stay. very nice beach.....swim, snorkel right from hotel.
The good:
Location - I would rather stay at Vakaloa (30+ minutes from Nuku'alofa than the other way around.
Beachfront - Sloped beach.... and coral, but sandy (crushed coral).... can walk barefoot
Kayak - They were free to borrow
Snorkeling - Free snorkel gear. You could see some fish right out front....but a great spot about a ten minute walk up the beach.
