"Out of all the places we stayed during our three weeks on the South Island, Ratanui Lodge provided the best service and hospitality. Firstly, the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much for them and the two ladies we dealt with went out of their way to give recommendations and ensure our stay was fantastic. We were on honeymoon and we were left a card and bottle of bubbly in the room which was a lovely touch, as was the robes and bottled water in the fridge. The breakfast is probably the best hotel breakfast you’ll ever get! A la carte options but I opted for the blueberry pancakes both days. The location is ideal, close to so many activities and in my opinion the right side of the Takaka Hill to make driving the area a much easier task (as opposed to basing yourself in Kaiteriteri). So many stunning walks and quiet beaches nearby. We loved Wainui Falls and Wharariki Beach. Sadly the weather didn’t allow for us to go Kayaking but I’m sure this would be a great activity to do. I really hope we can return from the UK one day and I would happily spend longer here! If we lived in NZ this could easily be a super week away. Absolutely amazing experience."

"Nautilus is a lovely property with quick access to Abel-Tasman National Park, grocery, restaurants/pubs and shopping! Both of our 2 reserved rooms were large, clean & quiet with very comfortable beds. Fluffy bathroom towels were hung on a heated towel rack. Kitchenette included cooktop, microwave, frig and was fully stocked with lots of serving plates/cups and cookware. Balcony was a nice bonus for private relaxation. Free on-site car parking. Owners are very welcoming and strive to provide guests with a great experience. Several wonderful dining choices nearby. The EG Eatery offers an extraordinary menu in a romantic atmosphere. The Sprig & Fern is perfect for beer selection and pub food. Carpe Diem! "

"This very reasonably-priced resort is the way to go if visiting this area. We had a wonderful unit, perched up the hill and loved our daily treks into town below (you can also drive, but we chose not to). An added bonus was the fitness track with various exercise stations around the property and we made sure to take advantage of the pools, the hot-tub, and the saunas. Everything is well-maintained (although the ping pong table is in need of replacing 😉). The continental breakfast is a cut above and offers whole grain breads, cheese and hard boiled eggs, plus delightful little jars of chia pudding, fantastic croissants and a selection of delicious homemade kiwi jelly, lemon curd, and even homemade chocolate and hazelnut spread. Dinner at their restaurant was likewise excellent. We had a great stay at Kimi Ora and would highly recommend it!"

"We stayed at the Beach Bach and it had the most amazing views! The cabin was spacious and very well designed- loved the log burner in the middle of the living area and the fire pit outside. Great kitchen too! Had a truly amazing stay and left with great memories of a beautiful place"
