The issue I had was the smell. Whatever was used to clean was incredibly strong - enough to give me a headache. I was there 2 nights and aired my room well but the smell remained throughout my whole stay.

City Gardens is an older style motel. That said, our room had everything we like: lots of space, comfortable beds & chairs & a large ensuite. Everything was clean & fragrant. Best of all, the hosts were friendly & obliging. (A special shout-out to Ranjana for her prompt resolution of an issue at check-in. Much appreciated.) We'd happily stay again. :)

I was unfortunately disappointed with my recent stay at this motel. There was no lock on my window. It was noisy, from both traffic and neighbouring rooms. I had a shower in the evening and there was zero hot water. I wouldn't stay here again.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the hot water system failed in the evening yesterday. We got it rectified immediately by organising the plumber after hours. Regarding the road noise, we would hope guests to check the map location prior to booking. We checked the window lock of the room and its working perfectly. We provide a comfortable accommodation at a very resonable price to our guests. We wish you good luck in finding one at similar price.

Absolute value for money. The property is very close to A1 and Coles, and the property managers were super-friendly, and supportive. The facilities were good, if you keep in mind that this is a motel, and not a five-star hotel. I'd definitely stay here again, if I'm travelling to Gippsland.

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The slope of the shower floor was dangerous even when using the non slip mat and the pipes made loud hammering and squealing noizes which disturbed the next-door occupants

This was surprisingly very tidy and clean for a budget motel. It also smelled very nice, which is not always the case with older motels. I'd definitely recommend this motel as an excellent value option for an overnight stay.

Although I was at the back of the property, the traffic noise was very audible and detracted from the expected peace and quiet of the rear location. The other dissapointing points: The room manual shows an outdated TV remote and references Foxtel channels as available. The TV remote in the room , upon clicking on the home button, featurea a range of media apps, but alas, no Foxtel, and none of the apps were connected. There was also a channel list pinned to the frame of the recee lights next to the TV. None of the cable TV channels were available.The website also refers to Foxtel channels avaialble as well.

Hello JamesSorry to hear you were effected by the traffic, all of the motels are on the highway. You must be very sensitive to noise as most of the guests I put at the back say it was fine. We have just recently changed all our TVs to smart TVs and haven't had a chance to up date the paperwork. Perhaps you should have contacted us so we could have helped you. Regards Julie & Peter

Road trip Gold Coast to Melbourne
We loved this motel. Especially Julie who tried really hard to get us a booking for dinner.( due to Coved pandemic) Also they cook a very generous inexpensive breakfast. Loved the tips for the bike trail to Glengarry. Thanks.
