Wow, this place is just lovely. We stayed in the lodge -- very clean, comfortable, and we just loved the historical setting and the vintage photos in the hallways, etc. Lake is beautiful and peaceful. Lovely stay overall.

This is not a five star luxury resort, however, if you’re looking for a quaint desert getaway in a cabin with a beautiful lake view; whether for recreation or a business retreat, this is a lovely place to stay. The cabins are quaint and well thought out. I would definitely stay here again.

I traveled to stay here the first weekend of October 2026. The best parts were the comfortable bed, pillows, and soft sheets. I appreciated the desert colors in the cabin. And the soaps in the bathroom smelled so lovely — I'd love to know where they get them! Small details like these were greatly appreciated after a long drive. If you're especially tall or large, the shower might be too small for you. I didn't know where the reception area was, if there is one, to ask questions. The downside to being the first cabin, though, is that you can hear every car passing by on its way to the other units. For some reason, the cost of the cabin changed from the first night to the second. I'm not sure why, and again, I didn't know where reception was to ask, and they don't seem to answer the listed phone number. Overall, I enjoyed our mostly peaceful stay in the quaint Cabin 1.

Had an amazing view of the lake and easy access. Warning- bed is rock hard, cabin interior not as pictured- no microwave or mini fridge. Very easy to book and location can’t be beat. We would stay again and now we know what to bring

One must realize they're staying in an historical site. The views are amazing, the staff always friendly. If I had any issues, staff was willing to address as needed. After one nights stay, decided another was needed. Asked about availability in person, and was accommodated, even matched the price shown on Expedia. This is the third time I've stayed in one of the casitas, and won't be the last. Other times camping at adjacent Winding Road tent sites, staff would say hello, wave and even went to the marina store and brought ice for my cooler. To those who complain about lack of amenities, I'd say book elsewhere or appreciate a break from modernity. For me, the in-room coffee pot, restroom and AC/Heater were all I needed. Many thanks to Damsite staff and we'll wishes to the new owners.

The Damsite Historic District's 1940s cabin was charming, beautifully maintained, and exceptionally clean. The historic character was preserved well, and the view from the cabin was outstanding. Unfortunately, the air conditioning struggled to keep up with the summer heat. Even after running throughout the evening, the cabin never cooled below 80°F. While it was an extremely hot day outside, the indoor temperature made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. Overall, this is a beautiful, well-kept property with a great location and wonderful views. If the cooling issue is addressed, I would gladly stay here again.
