Uji is a great little town to pick up green tea, and the best green tea ice cream I've ever had. There is shop after shop of green tea, and apparently they are one of the biggest tea producers in Japan.

When in Rokujizō and the surrounding area, you'll want to check out sights like Daigo-ji Temple or Fushimi Castle and hop on the metro to see more the city at JR Rokujizo Station or Rokujizo Station.
Utoro
Check out the monuments, gardens, and river views while spending some time in Utoro. Though there might not be many attractions in the neighborhood, you won't need to go far to find top spots like Nintendo Museum or Aeon Mall Kumiyama.

"We loved this hotel. Rooms are nice and loved the welcome treats in the fridge. Liked the idea of no shoes in hotel. Felt really homey. We enjoyed the onsen, free yakult and ice cream, massage chairs. Definitely get the breakfast buffet. It’s so good."

"The room is spacious enough for a family of four. Although the walk to the train station is quite long, there is easy access to bus stops. However, the automatic light at the front door was quite annoying at night, as it was overly sensitive to any movement."
