Uji is a great little town to pick up green tea, and the best green tea ice cream I've ever had. There is shop after shop of green tea, and apparently they are one of the biggest tea producers in Japan.

If we had known about this hotel earlier, we would have made it our main base in Kyoto. The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to both bus and train lines, and plenty of dining options in the surrounding area. The hotel itself is excellent and clearly very popular.
