โThere are places one simply staysโand then there are places one is graciously welcomed into, as if into the pages of a quieter, more refined life. The Carnegie House, nestled in the serene embrace of State College, Pennsylvania, is emphatically the latter. It does not clamor for attention; it does not shout luxury. Instead, it murmurs elegance with the confidence of something long-established and deeply loved.
From the moment of arrival, the experience becomes more than mere lodging. The staff,...
โEverything about The Graduate (formerly Atherton Hotel) was wonderful. There's a feeling of both sophistication and school spirit permeating the atmosphere. Best of all are the little personal touches, like one bed having a pillow stitched "We Are..." and the pillow on the other bed stitched "...Penn State!" It doesn't feel like the generic hotel chains at all.โ
โThis was a great place to stay. The room was really comfortable, the view from our room was amazing, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming to our dog.โ
โWe stayed here for a visit to Penn State and it was perfect and more affordable than on campus hotels. It was a 15 minute drive to the college and easy to find from the highway (right off 80). Quiet, modern, and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was fine, what youโd expect for continental breakfast. โ
โGreat place to stay. Very clean. Room is spacious, beds are comfortable. Breakfast variety could be improved. But overall highly recommend this hotel. โ
โPerfect for our one night stay! Very clean and quiet. There was a restaurant right next door, a gas station and a d.g. If we happened to forget anything. Overall a great experience!โ
โA sweet mom nโ pop property run by a lovely young family. Cheaper than anything in State College and right on the doorsteps of The Waffle Shop and a wonderful Greek restaurant, I always make this my budget friendly stay when Iโm visiting my son at PSU. Itโs a rare find.โ
