Basecamp Suites Canmore

"The location of this hotel is fantastic—right in the heart of the charming town of Canmore and literally just minutes from restaurants, shops, and the town center. The convenience was a huge plus, especially with kids. That said, being so close to town does come with some nighttime noise. Our room was next to a restaurant that closes around midnight, and we could hear people talking and singing at night. If you’re a light sleeper, this is something to keep in mind when choosing your room. The hotel itself is great for families. Having a full kitchen, dishwasher, and in-unit laundry made our stay very convenient, especially when traveling with kids. The beds were also super firm and very comfortable. There is a small garage in the back with designated parking spaces for guests, but the spaces are quite tight, so be prepared if you have a larger vehicle. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are no elevators. If you have heavy luggage, you’ll need to carry everything up the stairs to the 2nd or 3rd floor of your room. There is also no traditional front desk or reception. Everything is handled through text messaging, so if you need anything during your stay, you’ll need to contact them by text. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location, family-friendly amenities, full kitchen and laundry, and comfortable beds were definitely the highlights. Just be aware of the nighttime noise, tight parking spaces, and lack of an elevator."

"We arrived and checked in approx 3-5 mins before the 4pm check in time and had to queue up with other checked in guests to wait until the clock hit 4pm exactly, then we all told we could go to our rooms. The receptionist was a little over zealous even when the rooms were ready."

"Maybe it should indicate if there is a stove available in the unit. The photos implied there would be a stove but there is only an oven toaster in the cabin I rented. Fridge and microwave was nice to have. Very well insulated. Did not feel cold during the night. Hot showers were nice after a long hike. Bed was very comfortable"
