This is a charming property in a quiet corner of the old city. We enjoyed spending time in the courtyard and strolling across the street to visit the botanical garden. The staff was delightful and very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and dining room every day. Although the onsite parking was booked we easily found street parking close by. We would highly recommend this hotel.

It was great to explore the ruins so near by along with the botanical garden. The staff was so nice, Margta was so helpful with parking, maps and places to go see around the island. We stayed in the basement room with the sauna and it was a fun experience with relaxing at the end of our tour days. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed.

Unique, Historic Inn Near Center of Old Town Visby

Historic hotel with ancient church ruins as one wall of our room. Delicious breakfast buffet with local cheeses and honey. Near the center of the walled Old Town, convenient to restaurants, shops, grocery store, and cathedral. Staff were friendly, helpful, and considerate, and spoke excellent English.

This place is terrific. If I were to come back to Visby I would want to stay here again. The location is excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They helped us when we were late for our dinner reservation. The staff will even park your car as the parking spaces are tight as one would expect in an old walled city. The breakfast was fantastic the best we had in Sweden.

This hotel was magical! Slightly away from the din of the main square, Hotell St. Clemens nonetheless feels extremely accessible and close to everything. We were a family of four wit h small children, and they were able to accommodate us by adding two small beds. The property is beautiful and is adjacent to the St. Clemens ruins, which makes this just about the most unique hotel I’ve been to. The breakfast spread and available fika all day in the garden was so pleasant. I hope to come back one day and stay again!

Visby is the city said to be the model of the Japanese anime movie “Kiki's Delivery Service”. We went from Stockholm in the morning, visited Visby during the day, and stayed at this hotel overnight. Visby was a beautiful and cute town, just like in the movies. And this hotel made me feel like I was staying right in the city. Clean, cute, cozy rooms and facilities, friendly owners, delicious breakfast, and low cost of stay. This was my first visit to Visby and I can't compare it to others, but I think you can't go wrong with this hotel.

Charming stay with warm staff and cozy design

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly with a smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. Their kindness and hospitality really set the tone for our visit. Our room was on the basement level, but it was very quiet and had clearly been recently renovated. Everything was spotless and tastefully designed. The bed was large and comfortable, the TV was big, and there was even a private sauna — a luxurious and relaxing bonus. The cute wallpaper added to the cozy, elegant feel. My wife especially loved the room. She kept saying, “I want to stay another night,” and “Next time, we must stay here again.” That’s how much we enjoyed it. The courtyard was another lovely touch. Peaceful and well-kept, it offered biscuits and coffee upon arrival. We sat there and enjoyed a calm, elegant moment — the perfect start to our stay. Breakfast was served in a bright, beautiful room with a nice view. The selection was simple but included everything we needed, and we were completely satisfied. We also fell in love with the charming streets of Gotland. It’s a place we’d love to return to, and when we do, we’ll definitely stay at this hotel again. Comfort, design, and heartfelt service made this visit truly memorable.

If I could give **Hotell St Clemens** more than five stars, I would. From the moment we arrived, we knew we'd chosen the right place. The welcome from the reception team was, without question, the warmest and most genuine I've ever experienced at any hotel. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. That exceptional level of hospitality continued throughout our entire stay. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and exceptionally well equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Every detail had clearly been considered, and the hotel has a wonderful character that perfectly complements the beautiful surroundings of Visby. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh, high-quality food, and the unlimited filtered coffee was a lovely touch that we took full advantage of each morning before heading out to explore. The location is ideal for discovering Visby's historic streets, yet the hotel still feels peaceful and relaxing. I've stayed in many hotels around the world, and it's the people who make the biggest difference. The team at Hotell St Clemens are simply outstanding and deserve enormous credit for creating such a welcoming atmosphere.
