"Okay walking distance from the train station, but check-in was terrible. I didn’t receive any details until standing outside on a rainy day trying to figure out how to call a local phone number, which was eventually answered by someone who only speaks Chinese. After an awkward minute on the phone they hung up, but a few minutes later I finally got instructions on how to get inside. "We chose this hotel primarily for its historical significance. I was expecting it to be in a run down condition but surprisingly it was really good with modern amenities . Infact the check-in and housekeeping were very responsive and nice. The club swimming pool was bit far from the main location. I sincerely wish the Hotel to do much better due to its sprawling campus , grand lobby . The shuttle service is a great value addition considering its far from the main attractions and very convenient to connect to the main red line MRT in 5 mins. They need to improve dining . It was disappointing and the fact that there was no nearby place to go out and have dinner we had no other choice but to rely on hotel dining. I presume the breakfast is good since we did not avail it due to our travel schedule. Overall I would recommend this hotel more for leisure travellers and not business travellers. "
