“WOW! What a stunning place! Which we highly recommend a stay here.
From when you initially arrive at the property and travel down the drive you can see the wonderful gardens and beautiful views.
We were checked in by Millie, who showed us to our room, which was amazing
Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open, but they did do meat and cheese boards, which we shared one of each, and certainly were not disappointed by the taste and variety.

“The hotel is situated in a charming central location in Ely. My suite was furnished to a high standard, the outstanding feature, of course, being the free-standing copper bath in the bedroom!
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious.
My only slight niggle is that I expected better than the standard tube of instant coffee in the room, other provisons, such as the toiletries, being of a high quality, l and was glad I took my own sachets of ground coffee!”
“Stayed for one night, but wished we had stayed longer. All the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. He dined at the Lamb in the evening and the food and service were excellent. There was plenty of choice for breakfast with a range of additional cooked options. We had great views from our room which was very quiet.”
“After quickly booking about 11pm we arrived at nearly midnight. All doors inside were locked and kept ringing the contact number but not manned. There was clearly a door to the rooms but had not been sent a code to get in. My son went round the back and found an open door so we entered that way. We presumed that the only two rooms with a door open were ours! We left early in the morning and again not a single member of staff was to be seen. This issue raises great concern regarding the security...
“Only one member of staff who was pleasant. More of a DIY place. Once grand but terribly run down. We had attic room and stairs very steep. Most odd room with ancient furniture and fittings. Linen and bathroom clean and hot water fine, but not a room I’d recommend!!
Breakfast good but wouldn’t return”
“really friendly and accommodating staff. our only issue with our stay was that owing to very hot weather we needed to sleep with the window open to allow cool air to come in off the river. this meant being woken up super early by traffic”
“This was a very quiet place to stay, in a good location to explore Cambridge & the fens around there. The village itself was great, with a fantastic restaurant (Lot25) and an incredibly interesting church in terms of interior. I was on a long weekend with a good chum, and we had two rooms opposite each other. Although everything was clean and the beds were comfortable, I did feel like we were staying in a business school conference centre. The rooms lacked a few practical things, which you...
“It has been refurbished since I last stayed there. What I didn't like was I had to be rescued by housekeeping as the door lock was broken and I couldn't get out. Good job there wasn't a fire.”
