Had a one night stay during cyclone

We were down in Whakatane for a wedding during a cyclone that hit the town quite bad, unfortunately the wedding was canceled due to the weather circumstances, etc no power, so we wandered back to the motel and having nothing to eat we were starving, my wife mentioned to the owner what had happened and she said she would fix up some sandwiches up for us, but her husband brought up to our room two plates of lasagna and salad, at no charge, excellent service under those circumstances.

Bland, over priced motel

One night of two in Whakatane. Definitely inferior to the previous night in Whakatane despite being more expensive. The room was clean but had that awful scented de-odouriser smell. The room had windows only one side and there was no through air flow. We found the faux italian architecture unimpressive. The room was noisy during the evening because of the pizzaria and bar opposite.

Perfect Combo - Comfort & Location

Simple a "easy" place to stay - roomy, classy, and on fine evening Peter (co-owner) has wood fired outdoor oven to cook pizza with wine & beer choices. Walk everywhere and 5 minutes from the White Island Tour office.

Immaculate motel, spotless rooms & friendly staff.

I don't generally have high expectations of a 'motel for the night' but Tuscany Villas is just how well done the experience can be. A friendly welcome, spotlessly clean and presumably recently refurbished room and free wifi. Thoroughly recommended.

Greate place in town centre

We loved the place from the very first moment at check-in. Lovely owners, friendly staff. Spacious and very clean rooms. The Pizzeria on the premises ('Pavarotti') is highly recommended, best Italian style pizza we had in NZ.

Feb motel in the centre of town

Great hotel/motel in the centre of town. Easy walking distance to local shops, restaurants and tourist points. Room was well maintained, clean and tidy. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom included spa pool/hot tub (just big enough for two people) and shower. King bed was two singles pushed together - not a big problem but would have been nice to have an actual king without the 'bump' in the middle. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of car parking space.

Great hotel. Close to all amenities.

Modern and up to date. Walking distance to everything. Lovely hosts. Only downside was that our ceiling fan was faulty and the aircon was somewhat inefficient which was tough because it was a hot night 😂
