Wilson Canyon Trail, Sedona hotel rooms at the Independent

Rooms were outstanding. Loved the fireplace area in lobby. Great place to relax after dinner. All amenities available were excellent. Didn’t like the fact that NO coffee available for free in lobby during morning hours. Also, appreciate lodging establishments that have any type of breakfast available for the guests for free. Not looking for extravagant items, just something. Disappointed in this and for the cost of the rooms per night which was ok, but then get charged for parking. Really. ...

Very clean and convenient. The only downfall is paying for parking.

This place is great to stay at when visiting Sedona. It offers a kitchen, full size fridge, and a deck with a bbq grill. The room also has everything you will need to cook and enjoy your meals. It was a much needed break from expensive meals out in town. The best part is the hotel has a very large year round hot tub , and offers convent parking right outside your room. If you are planning to do a lot of outdoor activities and want to avoid the tourist traps this hotel is for you.

The property was great. However, I don’t appreciate being pressured into listening to a Vacation Sales package. I want to pay for my rooms, checking in and do what I came to do. If I wanted to sit through a Bacation Club Sales pitch, I would sign up for your deals.

This is a family owned business and that shows with the care and effort that’s put into the property. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and gave recommendations of places to eat and things to do in the area. We plan on staying here again during our next trip to Sedona.

Great management and excellent accommodations

The place was amazing and the staff was nice. The location was central to a lot of things and we did a but of walking because it was so close we could. My only issue was not with the hotel but the people upstairs who decided that pacing loudly was a great idea. If you can get a top floor room, i highly recommend that.

My husband and I loved the property! It was very quiet and in a very central area. Right across from the properties is Tlaquepaque - a nice little Mom & Pop shopping center with whole-in-the-wall stores & restaurants. A little up north, maybe about half a mile away, you have Uptown Sedona with some more shops and great restaurants to eat at. I would recommend this property to anyone planning on visiting Sedona. The lodge and its surroundings are beautiful. Convenient to hikes and restaurants but also situated further in the mountains so it's more quiet and scenic. Shuttle service is great. Highly recommend.

We flew into Phoenix in route to the Grand Canyon. We decided to stay in Sedona as it is half way between Phoenix and the Grand Canyon. What a great Idea my smart husband had in doing this! Sedona is amazing! The Hotel was great! Rooms clean ! Breakfast was Great! One gem Restaurant we found in Sedona was Rene’s. The Sea Bass was Amazing!

The room was exceptionally clean. The bathtub was magical! I would like if they had privacy tint on the windows so I could sit in the tub and look at the beautiful view! Fantastic pizza next door. The room was quiet even though on the main street. Front desk staff was quick to check in/out and very friendly. Lots of outlets throughout the room and next to the bed, including USB outlets. Bed and pillows were comfortable.

Amazing resort. Nice accommodations fully supplying your needs for a short or longer stay. Provides a home away from home with the perks of a heated pool, two hot tubs, gym, game room, and quiet atmosphere. Clean and provisions for everything you might needs. Friendly and welcoming staff provided coupons and suggestions for placea to check out. Five stars all the way! No question. Would definitely book again.

I am a clean freak especially when it comes to dining and sleeping, this place was spotless. Great romantic quite atmosphere. Most places places we stay in its either you get good food, good room or nice hotel, This place has it all. The food was delicious the serving staff was super nice and very friendly, think my wife wanted to take the busboy home with her. Cool little spot right in the middle of uptown, makes everything walkable at a fraction of the price. Tiny rooms but well appointed and very clean. Great spot if you’re on the go seeing the sights and stuff and just need a comfortable place to sleep (and free easy parking). Very much recommend for singles or couples.

We struggled picking a hotel in Sedona and ultimately settled on Matterhorn because of the location. We could not have been happier with the hotel as well as location. Other hotels may be closer to trails however this is in the center of everything! The price and value were also the best. I highly recommend the Matterhorn Inn for your stay in Sedona!

We initially thought the property was fake after looking at the photos online. However, we were pleasantly surprised by what a great value. you get for your money. Close to plenty of hikes in Sedona and only a 15-30 minute drive away from Upper Sedona and the other attractions in that area. Really was an enjoyable stay for a great price.
