“지난 9월 13일, 영국 Coast to Coast 를 걷기 위해 출발지인 St. Bees의 매너 하우스 호텔(Manor House Hotel)에서 1박했다. 도착해보니 1층에 로비나 리셉션 데스크는 아예 없고 Pup이 있을 뿐이었는데, 말이 호텔이지 규모가 좀 큰 B&B라고 해야 맞을 것 같다. Pup에는 우리가 도착한 오후에 이미 결혼식 전야제인지 피로연인지, 뭔지 모르지만 발 디딜 틈 없이 사람이 들어차서 파티를 벌이고 있었다. 숙박 접수대는 2층으로 오르는 계단 밑에 폭 70cm 정도의 책상이 전부였는데, 주인인 듯 보이는 70세 넘은 남자는 우리보다는 손님 접대에 정신이 없었고, 그 시간 이후 우리는 황당한 일을 여러 차례 당했다. 우리는 몇 가지 서비스를 부탁했는데 말로는 다 하겠다고 했으나 하나도 이루어지지 않았고, 그 중 가장 황당한 것은 다음 목적지의 호텔 예약이었다. 특별한 사정에 의해 다음날 예약을 하지 못해 부탁을 하니, 걱정 말라며 50Pound 짜리 방을...

“99% very helpful staff ”

“Had the same room as last time and as usual it was imacculate. The food again was excellent, but what makes it for us is most definatly the staff, from the hotel manager to the waiting staff from the bar staff to the housekeeping team, the front of house, the chefs every single one of the staff is friendly, polite and just make the place feel so homely another excellent stay. ”

“주변 환경이 끝내줍니다. 이곳이 영국에서 유명한 트랙킹 코스 시작지점인 듯 합니다. Coast to Coast의 서쪽 시작 지점인 듯 합니다. 방은 좀 좁고 건물은 많이 낡았지만, 스태프들이 다 친절하고, 레스토랑의 음식은 전반적으로 다 맛있습니다. 양이 어머어마 합니다. 다양한 맥주를 맛 볼 수 있어 좋습니다. 이곳에 또 방문 한다면 꼭 다시 머물고 싶습니다.”

“I enjoyed my wee trip to here, 2 nights. The room was for 3 adults and i though very spacious. Clean and tidy. The room was modern with a lovely ensuite. The view from our room was even more breath taking with the snow on the mountains. Breakfast was amazing and famikyvrun. The wee boys who served us were patient, helpful and polite with a clear understanding of there duties. There is no lift at this property but, it is only one flight of stairs up. “Great for a business trip”

“We had a fantastic time at the Royal Oak. All of the staff were really nice and looked after us. We stayed in Room 15 which is on the top floor and is nice and cozy, very clean and had aircon. The complimentry tea, coffe and water was good quality along with the bathroom products which were also available at the shop in the main square. Breakfast was 10/10 in terms oif quality (locally sourced) and choice. ”

“Very cosy and homely. Clean and very spacious. Pool, hot tub and sauna were clean. Food was amazing and fresh. Close to 2 town centres. Staff were very helpful and went out of there way Pet friendly hotel. Staff went out there way for my dog buster. Offered him sausages and treats. Buster was made up. Defiantly will be back x Only 2 little mini things was couldn't work out the shower and no instructions about how to work the hot tub. Only that there was someone in the pool telling us how to...

“Nice sized room. Matt was such a friendly host. Made my wife and I a great breakfast. Very convenient location to the Keswick market. Only a 5 minute walk. 20 minute drive to Grasmere village. We would definitely stay here again. ”

“Due to weather we had arrived late and missed the last orders for food. Went out of their way to direct us to nearest takeaway and even on return allowed us to eat in the bar area and even let us have some plates :) thanks so much for making us feel so welcome x”
