Nanuya Island Resort

"Came here for peace quiet and to get away from the crowds and that is exactly what I got - my stay was delightful, restful and exactly what I needed, the staff here were amazing - they really do go above and beyond for their guests however being such a small place they don’t have a large number of guests which probably explains why at times activities were cancelled. The nighttime activities were highlight. And while this isn’t for everybody, the lack of Wi-Fi or TVs in the rooms was also a highlight. It was great to disconnect. This is a really remote Island in the Yasawas - you can walk around the island, and there are some other very local places to visit for ice cream, doughnuts or curry mud crab made by locals on the other side of the island. We had use of the Blue Lagoon Beach when the official cruise boat was not there, and there was kayaking and a fair amount of fish to see when snorkelling around the island. The food was surprisingly fantastic, considering that there was limited options, everything they did they did well. They also catered to my dietary requirements to the best of their ability and I really loved the staff by the end of my stay. I did expect to not see any children at this resort (as that is what is advertised). However there is a neighbouring venue called the Boathouse (same owners) that allows children and a common dining area shared between the two. However, this wasn’t that bad as there really isn’t that many people even if they’re at capacity."

"The dorms were lovely. Very fun to stay in and the spa was brilliant. As were the activities put on by the staff, the staff running the caves and dive activities were absolutely brilliant as were the bar staff. The only issue was paying where we booked three beds under one name and our total wasn’t accurate on the app. Unsure which end it was on but other than that it was brilliant!!"

"Everything was excellent. Comfortable bed, clean spacious extremely private rooms, HOT SHOWER, beachfront (multiple sandy walkable beaches), GREAT food, Staff is STELLAR, daily excursions, 24 hour bar, 3 of the sweetest dogs, yoga, kayaks and SUP boards, hiking, and DON'T MISS the massage..... I got one everyday- Anna and Aggie have magic in their hands. Fijian hospitality is by far the best I have experienced in the world, hands down. Book it- its worth the journey! Vinaka, Navutu."

Barefoot Manta Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary

"We had a great stay overall. The manta rays were absolutely incredible, and the coral gardens are some of the best you’ll find. The food was excellent, although the cocktails varied depending on who was making them. The staff were very friendly, and it was lovely being recognised after a few days. Virokai even remembered my name, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A few practical improvements would make the stay even better. An information sheet in the bure would be helpful — explaining how lunch and dinner work, what the red coconut is for, and what to expect with cleaning. Cleaning wasn’t consistent during our stay; our friends received fresh towels and sheets halfway through the week, while we had to request clean towels ourselves. The bure was comfortable overall, but the bed was too firm for our liking, and the roof could use a bit of TLC. If you’re coming for manta rays and stunning coral reef gardens, this is absolutely the right resort."
