Very enjoyable stay with easy distance from the centre of York and the railway station. Room was good and comfortable. The shower and washing dispensers seemed to be "muddled up". Breakfast choice was good and service efficient.

An absolute gem of a stay. Talk about old world charm meets luxury. The estate was a gorgeous. The room was adorable. The bathroom was phenomenal with a rain head shower. And the architecture was just stunning from the moment you walked into the property. Well worth the stay and be honest we should’ve stayed in New York longer than one night.

Booked last minute at this property. Room was very good and clean Staff were professional but a bit still. Breakfast was the biggest let down. Cost was very high and the standard of food was not great. Avocado on toast was very plain and boring. Buffet was limited. Pancakes were very thin and tasteless Then being shoved in your face while you’re eating the extra 2.50 docket was rather rude. Would go again.

Lovely historic property just outside of the main area of town in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Rooms appear to have been newly renovated, beds were comfortable and the rooms had everything needed. Breakfast options were great. You do need to be prepared to carry luggage up a flight of stairs and make sure to arrange parking in advance.

Infrastructure needs some upgrade especially for the high prices. The family room at the attic is spacious and better maintained but the stairs are a killer! 3 floors, no elevator. The breakfast was the worse part. There was nothing. Everything was missing. For two days in a row. They should bot bother serving that to people. All and all, for the price you can get better hotels closer to the city center.

We payed extra for a suite only to find out we where in a separate building away from the hotel and as it was raining most the time we never used the hotel we had no water one morning parking was very limited my advice would book a room that is in the hotel , the room was ok but never had the experience of enjoying the amenities of the hotel The hotel had a nice outdoor area nice furniture etc our building had some old furniture uncared for good location 20 min walk to center of York

Breakfast was good. Orange juice was very cheap though - not freshly squeezed. Old part of the building is very impressive. Charging for a small bottle of water in the room is unacceptable. Hotel could do with a gym as well.

The room was clean and spacious, we really liked it. I would suggest adding hotel room basics like a toilet brush or tissue box. We had an issue with the AC for the whole building being right outside our room and being extremely noisy, thus preventing us from sleeping the first night. We flagged it to staff, who was very friendly and accommodating, changing our room for the second night although the hotel was fully booked. Apart from this AC issue, the stay was lovely and the location of the hotel was good too.

This is lovely restored Art Deco era hotel. Staff are helpful (special call out to the bar staff). Rooms clean and reasonably comfortable. Note: parking is £18.
