Nice and clean hostel with a shared sink in each room. The shower stalls are clean, but a bit narrow (width: no enough to raise both elbows out to shoulder height) Good breakfast :) Just 1-2min walk from the bus stop. However, the bus doesn't come around as frequently as some other places. Also, it's a pretty small bus, so depending on your timing, it could get tough getting on board.

It's a great place to stay. It's clean and staff are friendly except from one kitchen staff who yelled at me in front of everyone having their breakfast at that time when I was getting coffee but instead of using their own mug, I've used my own flask to keep the coffee warm whilst having my breakfast. He just yelled 'NO NO NO. YOU CANNOT DO THAT. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR WATER BUT NOT COFFEE.' What's wrong with using you own flask? I'm not stealing their coffee? I'm drinking it with my breakfast. Is it now forbidden to use your own flask?

Unfortunately we stayed whilst a school group was staying. There was alot of running around the halls, screaming and shouting in the early morning and in the evening. You would have thought they would put the group in one building, but they were spread out all over the three buildings. The facilities were fine, but meal times were so loud that we had to eat ver quickly and leave. Optional Dinners were very worth it. Four courses and delicious. We also opted for fondue one night, delish! The beds were comfortable, the room was basic and clean. The shower played up abit, hot then cold. Overall it was good

Great stay in a beautiful place.
My family of four stayed here in a 4 bed bunk room with bathroom. Worked fine for us for two nights. Pretty quiet and functional. Easy access from the Main Street. Staff were very helpful. Cold Breakfast was good. View of the Matterhorn was excellent.

The only down side (and a big one) is the staff. They seem to hate what they are doing as a job. The front counter man gave me a lecture about how I needed to change the past in order to make it so he didn't need to stay over his shift. Dude, it's the nature of that job so... make a decision and figure out if you are really a good fit for this type of job. The check in girl had no personality at all. Where are you finding these people? I've been in hostels in 31 countries and this staff was incredibly disappointing. Other than the really crappy staff they seem to hire, it was clean, had a great breakfast and a fantastic view of the Matterhorn. It's just funny how all that stuff seems so unimportant when you're being treated like garbage.

We really enjoyed staying at the Hostel in Zermatt. Friendly and efficient staff. Wonderful views from our spacious and airy room (in a new building adjacent to main building.) Tasty and ample cold breakfast buffet.

water not available due to broken tap when we want to drink…only water in a jar..but by the time we want to refill ,the water has run out.Even when we want to take hot water late at night…the jar is empty. The chef on the day of arrival is not people friendly..giving us a stare when we boiled water in a kettle and when we wanted to eat noodle in a cup.Overall rating its ok,but this might not be in our list to stay anymore.

The only bad thing. Is the property is a little far from the town center and is about a 15 min hump up that hill. Other than that is pace is amazing all around ! Staff was excellent and friendly!

The e bus has stop 100 feet from hotel lucuert stop. The hotel is clean and quiet. Breakfast is typical European style but lacks a full breakfast selection. Buying the dinner service 6-7:30 each night Is both affordable and good. Would stay here again. I stayed in many 4-star hotels and the Zermatt Youth Hostel is cleaner than 4-star offerings.

Great for a fuss free stay in the beautiful town of Zermatt! Just a thing to note is that check in is slightly late at 4pm, but there are lockers, so not the biggest issue.

Matterhorn views and great breakfast
Reasonable place to stay in Zermatt, 10 minutes walking to the closest list. Can see Matterhorn right out of the window. Breakfast is very good.

A decent place. Avoid heavy luggages
Place is quite far from the train station, but very clean. No elevator, and the pathway to the hostel is uphill with staircases, so try to avoid heavy luggage. Bring your own toiletries and towel. Breakfast was bread with cold cut hams, cereals, rice & miso soup. Every day's breakfast is the same. As long as you don't keep your expectation high, you will be pleased with your stay as it the place is very clean and overall decent.

I like the view I don’t like the access to the property, we walk from the train station with luggage and it’s very inclined, lots of stairs 😁, pulling up luggage, but a very pleasant experience after all

My room was clean, comfy, quiet and safe. I had an excellent view of Matterhorn from my room. The breakfast was good. My only complaints are the check in/out times. Check out 10am, check in 5pm. That’s 7 hours (over 1/4 of the day). It is the most expensive hostel I’ve ever stayed at and you can’t use it 1/4 of the day. I understand they need to clean but they aren’t flipping the entire hostel daily. And the patron make and strip the beds. They only clean the floors and sink in the rooms. I think check out and in should be 11 and 4. Also the community room is very uncomfortable. Hard wooded benches mostly. After a day of skiing I would like a comfy chair/couch to unwind on after dinner before bed. But it was a good stay. Just constructive criticism.

Great hostel for skiing...with a huge uphill hike!
Great reasonable priced location if you’re mostly focused on the mountains! I was in a two person private room, and it was very basic but as you’d expect for a hostel. Limited hours at reception so you might wait a bit if you arrive midday but the response was better than the posted “open” hours. Breakfast was good and nice to have included. It was also nice to have the dinner option each night. My only caution is location—it’s not bad, and still walkable... but it’s quite the uphill hike, not just with your bags, and after a day of skiing but anytime you head out. If you’ve got a couple bags, I’d recommend paying for the taxi ride up the hill! And I might consider paying a little more per night to avoid the hike if I return...but I would also stay again for the great deal.

The stay is worth the money and the view is great. The view of Mont. Matterhorn is great from the room window. Another good thing about the hotel is that it provides free breakfast. The drawback of this hotel is the location, it is a long walk from the train station, and you need to climb some stairs to get to the hotel.
