Sensui Island Adults Only Vacations

This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!

Our favorite booking in Japan. The property is gorgeous, the bed was extremely comfortable and the staff was so kind and attentive. Thank you for everything.

This villa was hands down the best accommodation of our entire Japan trip. If you are traveling the Shimanami Kaido, do yourself a favor and book this absolute perfection of a stay. Here is why it stands out: • Phenomenal island views: The landscape from the property is stunning, and you can take a bath while soaking in the incredible scenery. • Fully stocked kitchen: The amazing kitchen comes completely equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. • Premium convenience: They provide breakfast supplies that were exactly what we needed, plus wine and champagne available on-site for purchase. • Ultimate tranquility: Every single detail was thoughtfully designed for a peaceful, flawless stay. • Pro-tip on location: Keep in mind that shops are not right next door—it is about a 20-minute bike ride to get to them, so plan accordingly. Our only massive regret was staying for just a single night. We wished we had booked it for a few days to fully soak it all in. Do not make our mistake—stay longer!
