Island Armona All inclusive Vacations

The room was clean and spacious but a little dated. There was a waterproof sheet underneath the main sheet which was a little uncomfortable to sleep on as it kept wrinkling up in the night. The room had a kitchenette but no plates or cutlery and only tiny tea cups so we had to ask for these. It was nice to have a fridge and kettle though. The staff were mostly really friendly and helpful. The pool and surrounding area was nice but lots of seagulls flocked around there and frequently pooed in it so we’re not sure not clean it was. We both ended up with bad colds after a couple of days of swimming in the pool so we expect it wasn’t very hygienic. The sauna was very cold and therefore not a proper sauna. The gym on the other hand had no air conditioning and was really hot and felt quite dirty. We had a couples massage at the spa which was lovely and very reasonably priced. We also got given recommendations for local restaurants - Tasca 26, Quirinos and Olivalmar were all really good. The dinner buffet at the hotel was basic and rather disappointing. The beaches nearby were nice but you do have to walk to them. There is a cool tunnel in the rock to walk through from the closest beach to the next one and that is a nicer beach to swim from. Overall, it was a satisfactory hotel but not as nice as the photos or description implies.

Right by the beach, staff was friendly and apartment hotel was ideal

Location was excellent - easy reach of beach and restaurants and we had a wonderful holiday. However, the Nau Swimming Pool was over-run with children and families so we did not use it unfortunately. Further negatives were that there was a dirty nappy left on the balcony from previous occupants and we had to continually go and ask at reception for towels (not enough were supplied and were not replaced until we asked) and also for toilet roll (not enough was supplied and it was not replaced without asking). Another annoying issue was again regarding the supply of the shower gel and body lotion - we had to ask at reception for this to be replenished when it ran out but this should have been done automatically without asking during the cleaning/ normal maintenance. Also, the patio doors on the lower floor where the bedrooms were did not lock so we ended up having the shutters closed for the whole stay which was not ideal.

My husband and I spent a part of our honeymoon at Vale Do Lobo. We really enjoyed the accommodations. We had a private apartment with a pool, which was lovely. We enjoyed the on-site restaurants, golf, and the pool area. We even went to the beach one day. The accommodations were great! They provided us with espresso for the Nespresso machine. Gave us a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. We had everything we could need at the apartment.

Pine Cliffs Gardens is a beautiful property. The grounds, gardens, beach and accommodations are lovely, and the resort itself has so much potential. Unfortunately, the restaurant experience was deplorable. The food was consistently poor, the service was unacceptable, and the prices were outrageous for the quality provided. We are happy to pay premium prices when the food and service justify it, but that simply wasn’t the case here. For a resort positioning itself at this level, the restaurants should be one of the highlights, not the biggest disappointment. The difference between the quality of the property and the quality of the dining experience is shocking. Beautiful resort, but the food, service and extremely high restaurant prices significantly impacted our stay. Until the dining experience improves, I could not rate Pine Cliffs Gardens more than 3 out of 5.
