Nu Island Beach Vacations

Very nice hotel in a convenient location in Kyoto. About a 8 minute walk to Kyoto station, 3 minutes from Shichijo station, one block from major street for buses. A 7-11 a minute away. Quieter area which is south of the major shopping streets and tourist attractions. There was a little street noise on the morning but not overly bad. Rooms are large. Only 4 rooms per floor. Got a jr suite which has a nice couch and table with fridge, toaster oven and utensils. There is an Nespresso machine with pods. The clothes washer has a drying feature as well which is useful. Although you could always hang clothes on the shower room and turn on the drying feature. Dyson hairdryer in the washroom. Found the room to be confusing with all the light switches. Even with all the lights it felt dark, but especially in the front door area where the washer is (almost impossible to see the buttons without a flashlight). There are 2 large windows in the room but they do not open anywhere and the view outside is the brick wall of the building 3 feet over! The TV is hung on the wall right across from the beds so it is a tight squeeze to get into the washroom, and sometimes bumped the TV. Should have been over the couches.

The staff were extremely helpful. I showed up at the wrong MONday Apart and they called me a taxi upon my request and waited outside with me until the taxi came. Then they spoke with the driver to ensure they understood where we wanted to go. The amenities are consistent with other MONday hotels. The location of the other hotel was closer to areas we wanted to visit but they offered a free shuttle to a few attractions (Nijo castle/bamboo forest) which was an added bonus especially since the buses to those locations take a bit of time! I would definitely stay again.

Our family of three really enjoyed our stay at MONday Apartment Hotel. There was plenty of space for the three of us and all our luggage (three large suitcases and three smaller bags). Beds were luxury firm and supportive. I especially appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare simple breakfasts for the family each morning. There were also several convenience stores and a supermarket nearby with everything we needed. The location was good overall, although it was about a 7–10 minute walk to the nearest subway station, which could feel a little tiring after a long day of sightseeing. There also weren’t many restaurants within a five-minute walk, and it was about half a mile to the nearest family-friendly restaurant, such as Yayoi-Ken. We really liked the neighborhood’s hip, slightly hidden-gem feel, with independent coffee shops and bakeries tucked away in the surrounding streets. Kiyomizu-dera was also within walking distance, at roughly a 20-minute walk. The room itself was great, but my main complaint was an unpleasant, dirty-water smell coming from both the shower drain and the washing machine. The unit combines a washer and dryer, and the hotel provides detergent. The detergent worked well for our clothes, and we had no issues with skin irritation. However, the dryer was a different story. Although the clothes smelled fine after washing, using the dryer seemed to bake the smell into them. I just hung dry afterwards and didn’t use the dryer.

Good hotel, nice staff, and right at the tren station access. Nice building, increible view, and confortable room with tipical Japones features. Breakfast isn't the waouh one, but acceptable if included. Negative point, room asigned at loundge /gym level, with tremandous color from the kitchen each time you are leaving the room. A huge improvement to consider while dealing with customers paying extra for loundge access...

Excellent staff, breakfast and lounge. However, the location wasn’t the best.

Loved the view from my room, lovely bathroom and a luxury hotel. However elements of the room were worn, like the desk, room trimming etc. also there was quite a bit of fussing around things like the direction you stand in when your in a queue for the desk etc. rather then focusing on getting another staff member on the desk. I had more than a few instance like this, and it just felt unnecessary which was a shame. The rooms were always cleaned really well, location of the hotel was good also. It did take me a few days to get the hang of all the different stations etc. I will say that whilst I felt some of what the staff focused on was overly fussy, all of the staff I spoke to were great and very helpful. Again, great view from the room.

The room was clean. Very convenient place to catch subway , other transportation. The staff in general was very helpful. They were welcoming
