Fabulous upscale hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

My stay was good for what I needed. My room was much smaller than I expected and very very dark. I needed my own extra light to get ready and that was barely helpful. No full body mirror either. Definitely was a plumbing issue and the water in the toilet came up brown. Lights flicker a bit in the shower and it was freezing at one point during the day. Staff was really nice and the hotel has a cool vibe. Many people I knew have done some photography/videography work there, but to stay at was not the most luxurious experience. I got lucky and was leaving when the plumbing issue started getting really bad. Really great location, a block away from the 6 train and 10 minute drive to Penn station.

My room had no air conditioning and no attempt to accommodate us was offered. If they were fully booked an attempt to offer a fan, cold water, or a refund to go elsewhere but none of that was offered.

The hotel has a convenient location to Hollywood Blvd., however a few things weren’t best. First, our room was not clean when checking in. The side table next to the bed had splash stains not wiped up; one towel was questionable in the bathroom as it was the only towel not properly folded as the others were - it seemed to be just thrown on the rack… didn’t risk using it given the side table mess. Secondly, the parking rates are straight extortion. $95 a night for an SUV - find street parking! Lastly, not really the fault of the hotel, but LA has a ridiculous “tax” in addition to all the other hospitality taxes, just for employee “safety.” Cleaning people can’t clean more than 200 square feet or something ridiculous per day - probably why the rooms weren’t the cleanest. That’s an additional hit on consumers bill, so check the total rate to make sure that’s included. I was not expecting it. Other than that, there’s a nice (very small) pool. Nice views. The rooms were ok, bathrooms are nice aesthetically, and not too many homeless right next to the hotel. It’s a 3 for me.
