The hotel was overall a pleasant place to stay. The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The food was also good and enjoyable. However, the room was disappointing. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and felt very worn out and sagging in the middle, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The pillows were also uncomfortable. In addition, the bathroom was surprisingly small, to the point of being quite impractical. While the service and location were definite positives, the comfort of the room needs significant improvement.

My first problems seemed to belong more to Expedia than to the hotel. I was booked & charged for 2 persons in the room (my name had been entered twice) & they could not correct it. Secondly I was charged, acc to Expedia two different prices for my 2 nights there— again, Expedia would not assist despite my 3 calls to them. Riu plaza room was small but lovely. It had all needed amenities & was mostly satisfactory. My only difficulties were with a frequent sandpaper rubbing kind of noise at all hours, which I suspect was because my room was next to the Pumping Room. Lastly I found that no matter how careful I was, water leaked after both showers, into the foyer of the room, which I used towels to clean up. In a less expensive room, I would not have considered this a problem but for prices at Riu, I was surprised. Other than those issues, the room was very good.

Really liked the comfort of the rooms and cleanliness of the hotel. Rooms were a good size for 3 people. Breakfast was also very good but could get quite busy. Only negative was that being on a lower floor lifts were often full at peak times so had to wait a while to get one. Partly because one lift dedicated to breakfast access. Location of hotel was excellent. We would definitely stay there again.

A nice little hotel. Comfy, non-flashy, great location. A solid choice. This was our second stay and we'll be back.

After staying in New York City many times, this is probably one of the best stays I’ve ever had. The rooms were clean, the staff was amazing and Location was excellent. What really made this place great was the morning breakfast staff and the evening happy hour staff. Specifically one staff member Sonia who served the wine and attended to all the guests made this stay extremely amazing. We met so many nice people and the staff made this stay extra special. I would highly recommend this location to returning New York visitors or new visitors as well.

We had a wonderful experience at the Conrad! Could not have asked for a better place to stay.

My only issue with the stay is that they wouldn't accept my Hilton Honors number. Apparently when you book with Expedia, you don't get the Hilton points. The airlines and car rental companies don't work that way and neither should the hotels.

Cons Bad plumbing, shower drained slow, shower water control faucet was stripped and hard to control the temperature of the water, water stopped (completely) multiple times during showers. Shower curtain sticking to you as you bathe because it was so small. No electrical outlets near the bed or close to a table or chair. Beds weren't exactly comfortable, hard and springs in mattress were unforgiving, bathroom was extremely small, toilet, sink, and shower super close together, no room to move or dry yourself in the bathroom due to everything being so close together, and the inability to use the toilet comfortably. Stayed on the 12th floor, elevators were really slow and hard to catch at times. Pros Room was clean (linens, towels, and floors, etc.), A/C worked fine, it's a fantastic location close to most everything of interest, and the staff was friendly and courteous.

We stayed for 2 nights as a couple. The room was relatively spacious for NYC standards, very comfortable, and clean, with a great layout. We enjoyed the street view from our room, and the location is truly prime! We also loved the 24/7 rooftop access, which offers fantastic views of the city. The staff was kind and welcoming throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again!
