The staff are truly wonderful. Breakfast buffet needs more variety.

Definitely would not recommend. There are at least 4-5 other places on Mactan I’d highly recommend. We made reservations in a pinch and thought the kids might enjoy. Hotel staff never replied to a single message we sent prior to our stay. I dont think anyone at the hotel even knew what was going on or acknowledged the questions we had - which were pretty normal, ie arranging a car. I’d personally give this place a 1-2 rating. I’ve stayed at places in the Philippines for the half the price and 5x as nice.

Hidden Gem

This our 3rd stay at Kandaya. Sadly, lots of upgrading is needed now. We first had a deluxe suite booked. Foul smell was coming from bathroom, TV wasn’t working well and air conditioned was not functioning well. We eventually moved to a villa, which was better but bathroom needs upgrading, tiles from the pool were coming off as well. Gym definitely needs a lot of upgrades. Air condition was always not properly functioning and ALL equipments were so old, most were taped off and too old to use. Expected more for spa accommodation, especially for the price. Staff is always friendly. Hopefully upgrades will be done, especially for the price.

I would love to give credit where it is due, but of all the resorts and hotels I have ever booked, which is usually about 9 bookings per year, at 3 days per booking, and for vacationing in both the Philippines and India, In my experience this resort was the absolute worst ever. The problem is their absolute lack of any genuine hospitality, they don't have empathy or care for your stay experience at their resort. All they are concerned about is their extensive bureaucracy, draconian rules, and their selfish and greedy in-take of your money, all without providing industry standard customer satisfaction. They will not accommodate you if something goes wrong or if their is an issue. It will be your loss. India always wins in hospitality -globally, yet in the Philippines, you can find many good hotels with decent service, but this hotel represents a desperate move towards unfair money grabs, tyrannical bureaucracy, and a disregard for your what you as a customer have a right to expect for a hotel, of the staff and from the management especially for the high price you paid to stay their. If you don't have money to waste, or don't want them trolling your every move with extra fees, For example no visitors allowed, only guests can be in hotel, they will be sure to find ways to keep your deposit. Consider just saying no to this place, let their establishment fail, perhaps give your booking to a resort with excellence in hospitality, customer service, support, and satisfaction.
