Iwo Jima Romantic Vacations

Loved the location and the staff was great. The property was in need of a refresh - tile in the shower was old, the elevator door was held together by duct tape, the towels were frayed and overall, it was just tired looking. The fitness area was being renovated which we were unaware of when we booked, which was disappointing.

Toilet is shaped weird. But other than that beautiful hotel. Staff was friendly. The lobby is nice to just sit in. Literally right next to all the sights. I went for Broadway and that was less than 5 mins. Would definitely stay again. Just be aware of the traffic outside of the hotel. In the day time they only allow specific drivers and deliveries.

Having worked in libraries when I was young and volunteered in a Nica library when I was old the name drew me to the hotel but also that it was on Madison Ave right by Bryant Park. Very cool without being hipster, yeah which means the hotel had a closet with plenty of hangers, drawers, the right amenities in addition to a great location, fantastic staff and yes lots of shelves with books. One floor not only had books but a piano with lots of drinks and snacks but also was opened 24/7. The "Rooftop" which was on my filters had an excellent creative comfortable design with a small menu for food and of course drinks, also had wonderful indoors spots. While with only 14 intimate floors you don't get the best sunsets but you get cracks between buildings and a pink sky above. I even found a book in the lobby of Magritte that was published in Spain and had photos of his paintings I had ever seen before. Not the icing on the cake but the candles to brighten my experience.

The hotel did not look as advertised in the photos. Our room had a weird smell. Our thermostat did not work properly. We couldn’t even use the TV to watch stuff on Youtube. It kept kicking us out

Although we stayed in a beautiful suite and the location is perfection, I have to say that the services at the hotel were not the level we expected. There wasn’t ever a staff person at the door, concierge service didn’t seem to have much information or offer help, etc. We were in Florence for half of our trip and Rome for the other half, and compared with our hotel in Rome, this just wasn’t up to snuff. That being said, staff were kind when we spoke with them and those who worked at breakfast were lovely and on their game. I guess I’d say that when you pay St. Regis prices, every element should be perfection.
