Unfortunately, I've had a pretty poor experience at Intercontinental Lusaka, despite the fact that the facilities and service is nice.
1 negative remark: I was there for business for 1 day, and upon arrival, it took almost 1 hour for the desk clerk to check me in which ended up making me late for my meetings.
1 TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE remark: we booked a taxi with the front desk for the next morning as the shuttle timings (5:30 then 9:30AM) were not in line with our flight schedule.
In the morning, the taxi the hotel booked for us was waiting. As we drove off , my colleagues and I realized that the driver was COMPLETELY DRUNK !!!!! We got so close to getting into accidents all the way to the airport, to the point that I even had to stir the wheel to avoid a car coming the other way!!!! I was never so scared in my entire life.
The fact that the driver was drunk isn't Intercontinental's fault, but they should have NEVER EVER booked this taxi for us, and should have called another one !!
Advice for future guests: check the taxi driver's ability to drive before leaving...
