Great Accomodation with Great Food!

Great place to stay, excellent food and beautiful rooms and gardens. The staff were very attentive and even cleaned our car for us. Can’t fault the experience but make sure you have a car with good ground clearance!

a real gem of a find. could not fault it at all. slightly quirky with décor and ambiance but that is the owners' style. a real joy for us. the food is to die for the wine list excellent. nothing was too much trouble. highly recommend to anyone visiting Addo.

Fantastisch landhuis met prachtige kamers

De locatie is fantastisch, de kamers ruim en sfeervol! Het landhuis is prachtig en ook sfeervol ingericht. De tuin rondom het landhuis is prachtig! Je kunt er ook dineren en dat is heerlijk: je hoeft ‘S avonds niet meer op pad om een restaurant te zoeken. Ook de keuze uit wijnen is prima en goed betaalbaar. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben 2 weken door Zuid-Afrika gereisd maar dit was de mooiste locatie..

Sehr zu empfehlen

Wunderschönes altes Haus im Kolonialstil inmitten einer Zitrusplantage, große Zimmer mit Badewanne im offenen Bereich des Zimmers. Dies macht duschen etwas kompliziert wenn man nicht das Zimmer wässern möchte aber sieht toll aus. Extrem guter Service und sehr leckeres und optisch hübsch angerichtetes Essen. Wir hatten sowohl das inbegriffene Frühstück als auch zusätzlich das 3 Gänge Menu am Abend. Dieses ist nicht günstig aber das Geld auf jeden Fall wert. Es gibt 3 sehr nette kleine Haushunde die ab und zu für Streicheleinheiten vorbei schauen. Sehr schöne Anlage und unser Auto wurde auch noch gewaschen. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

What an amazing place, loved our rooms, the gardens and the main building. We ate at the hotel both nights and the food was superb, as was the service. Definitely recommend.

Das Hotelpersonal hat jeden Morgen das Auto ohne Aufforderung gewaschen. Sehe gepflegte Anlage mit hervorragendem Essen.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einer traumhaften Lage. Ein herrlicher Garten mit tollem Pool. Absolut empfehlenswert ist das Abendessen vor Ort! Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war allerdings eher nicht wie erwartet und es roch etwas modrig. Der Teppichboden war dreckig, es lagen Fußnägel von ehemaligen Gästen vor dem Bett und generell hätte mal gesaugt werden müssen. Das Bad allerdings war sehr sauber. Wir hatten das Pech eines sehr regnerischen Aufenthaltes und dementsprechend sah unser Auto nach 5 Stunde Addo Elefantenpark aus. Als wir am nächsten Morgen abreisen wollten, war das Auto blitzeblank!! Ohne Ankündigung. Wir waren überwältigt! Die Gastgeberin hat uns sehr ausführlich und gut bezügl. Safaris beraten. Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt.

A very Meh stay.

Nothing special about the rooms. No view. Mediocre fittings at best. No WiFi as advertised. Room door when locked from the inside could not be unlocked. Had to use the window to exit. Wasn’t seen to on being pointed out so happened again. Only saving grace was the set menu dinner although it cost as much as ones nights stay.

Traumhaft

Ein traumhaftes country house. Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Top Sauberkeit. Sehr leckeres Essen, welches wie im Nobelrestaurant angerichtet wird. Eine richtige Oase ist es hier. Wir ürden jederzeit wiederkommen. Leider hatten wir die Unterkunft nur für eine Nacht gebucht.

Lovely country estate

Convenient outside-the-park lodging for Addo Elephant National Park. (Approx. 15 min drive to Addo gate.). The property was attractive and comfortable with a nice pool and shady courtyard. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dinner was excellent.

Perfect country restaurant for Addo

Amazing small country hotel, perfectly positioned for Addo national park and private game reserves. The service was great, the only improvement could involve the ease of finding reception staff - we had to wait/search for someone on a couple of occasions. The room and gardens are beautiful and our car was even washed while we had breakfast. We'd easily recommend Hopefield.
