The room was spotless. The outdoor patio revealed the most tremendous views of the sunset. We would definitely stay here again. It is the BEST location for visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Very great location to access the national park! Staff are super friendly and the room was very clean! We found the grab and go breakfast to be very extensive and more than enough to start the day. You can also hire a sandboard for $25 a day if you are so inclined!

Great Sand Dunes Lodge is a great base camp with an unbeatable location right at the entrance to Great Sand Dunes National Park. The staff were friendly, the room was generally clean, and the simple grab-and-go breakfast was helpful before heading out. Stargazing right outside the room was a highlight. A few bugs (flys nothing scary), but overall a solid stay. Definitely recommend nearby Zapata Falls too.

We stayed in small camper. The location in the campground and the campground's nearness to the park were both excellent. We were even entertained by some rapidly moving hummingbirds right by our deck. The office even rents boards for use on the dunes. We highly recommend.

This property is so close, and if you are fortunate to get a room with a patio, some really nice views. i wanted a cabin or dome, but those were full. We were late, didn't realize there would be no cell service on the road for such a long period, and were so excited to see the room keys pinned to the bulletin board- thank you! Sparking clean, cool temp. rooms- perfectly close to the Dunes, rent the boards onsite- we got the most out of our visit because of this place!

Perfect location to go to the great Sands national Park and explore all the trails as well as the sand dunes. The staff of the hotel was really great and we met the owner Alps who was positive. Susan at the front desk was very nice and easy to work with also.

Fantastic location and a fantastic view of the grand vista that makes up the sand dunes and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in the back drop. As a added bonus for birders the property has set up multiple humming bird feeders in front of the rooms and the 3 species that we saw at the feeders provide entertaintment all day. The park it self is 2 miles down the road making it easy to get to the park early for hikes and back in the room to beat the heat of the day (we were ther in July). Staff are very frrienly, rooms are clean large and nice patio to shoot the breeze or watch the birds. As for breakfast.... well let's not spoil the vibe
