“Loved the style of the hotel. Stunning decor and very comfortable beds. Staff were also delightful and well informed. The pool was a really decent size - though in contrast to the rest of the hotel the pool area is very grey and uninteresting. Also no jacuzzi. Food and drink very good and the dining room is beautiful. We had a spa suite which was very spacious and comfortable BUT be warned - it is a very long walk from these to the main hotel. I counted walking through 8 fire doors before...

“The George was brilliant. We were travelling to Islay and it was intended as a stop off. We loved it! From the moment of our arrival, welcome from the staff was great, rooms lovely and bar / restaurant excellent. Food was superb. I can only recommend it to anyone travelling in that area.”

“Seems to be a struggling hotel. Double bed was two singles pushed together. and not comfortable Heater in bathroom and hall were permanently on despite hot weather. General decor is tired and reception staff not very engaging although they send too many messages through Expedia. The fire alarm going off repeatedly after midnight was not good. The restaurant was entirely respectable with good service and decent food. Not that busy even in July. The gym and pool are good too.”

“The staff were lovely extremely helpful. The hotel does need a bit of an upgrade things like towels were clean but very worn and thin. Bring your own. Restaurant food was good and breakfast was traditional.”

“We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and the reception staff always give us a very warm and friendly welcome. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff are amazing- nothing is too much for them. The restaurant served a very varied breakfast and dinner menu with good portions and excellent service from the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel.”
