“This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!”

“Ware gastvrijheid schuilt niet in grootse gebaren, maar in de kleine attenties die een verblijf onvergetelijk maken. Mijn overnachting in The Bear’s Paw was voortreffelijk. Een warm onthaal, een vlotte check-in en een verrassend mooie, koele kamer op de bovenste verdieping — een zegen bij 30 graden dankzij de airco. Hoewel er geen televisie was om de WK-wedstrijden te volgen, zag het personeel mij op mijn telefoon meekijken en plaatste zonder dat ik erom vroeg een laptop voor mij. Een klein...

“We only had an overnight stop here, but it was a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room and general public areas of the property were all fine. We had an evening meal and a full breakfast and they were both very tasty. Having an EV charger (22kW) in the car park was a really useful bonus as we left our car to charge overnight. Would definitely stay here again.”
