"I was quite disappointed with this accommodation. We were greeted by someone that spoke no english which was quite uneasy seeing as how we just arrived on the island at 6pm (sunset) and wanted to familiarize ourselves with the space. Instead as the sun went down, we were greeted by a guy with a flashlight which seemed to be telling us he was the night guard and told us to yell his name if we heard anything. "I had the misfortune to arrive by bus from Managua on a rainy day. I thus had difficulty in finding the Hostal. When I did, at aout 7 pm, the person at the reception did not even ask to identify me, and I was led to a room with a window giving on the corridor, a small old sink giving only a tiny fillet or water, etc. Only cold water, but that seems to be general in San Juan. I eventually got used to all these "perks"..."
