"I've stayed here over 10 times over the last 15 years. In the past 2 years, I've experienced less than great stays at this resort. Tradition makes it I want to go back, but I'll book someplace else for next year I think. The lodge is still a great building, its so beautiful on the lake, lighted up. The skating rink and through the forest is also such a great amenity. The staff are much less friendly than before - not sure why. The room was the standard suite, but many items were not functional or need updating e.g. the plugs are loose so you can't plug in chargers without them falling, the bath is plugged so water accumulates when you take shower and is slippery, some of the lights don't work (beside bed etc.), the fridge makes loud noises and the heating/cooling appliance runs all the time. So, not sure if its owner negligence or resort maintenance gaps, but a renovation is in order. We had dinner at the restaurant on the 1st night, ordered a brie as appetizer (it came not very warm/not melting), then we had the steak tartare which was good and my son had the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers looked good, with light batter and 'real' fresh chicken - which is a nice change from frozen. That said, when he cut through one of the largest pieces after taking a few bites, he realized the chicken was RAW. We lost our appetite after that, and went to our rooms. She didn't charge us for the chicken but that was it, no apologies etc. "
