The property is gorgeous and the beach is stunning. Service was very uneven though. We were very surprised to hardly ever see our villa hosts - after booking one tour for us on the first night (without telling us that it would be an $80 RT cab fare, without giving us the name of the tour company, and without indicating that we were expected to pay cash for the tour), they stopped by our beach chairs briefly a few days later, learned that I was sick, and said they would send tea to our room that afternoon. No tea was sent, and we never saw them again. It was very odd. On the first day, we asked for bikes to use but never received them. No snorkeling tour, no help arranging for check-out or transportation back to St. Maarten, and no attempts to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary. A stark contrast to our butler at the St. Regis Maldives last year, but probably not a fair comparison. Housekeeping was also very slow, making up our suite late in the afternoon all week. They also failed to replenish supplies like mouthwash and vanity kits as they were used, which we also found to be strange. Kudos to the beach attendants and the pool attendants though - they were excellent! Like everyone else, we also loved Gene! Despite the uneven service, we did have a very relaxing vacation.
