Few hiccups for a four star hotel

Got there by car, parking was full so I had to park 15 mins walks from the hotel. Very busy and big hotel in middle of other high buildings. Rooms were clean and breakfast was ok ( food was not very warm). Minibar in the room was empty .Will probably not go there again

I chose the Mercure solely because of its proximity the Antwerp Expo where I was attending Stranger Con. First the positives: - The reception staff was incredibly nice and spoke English very well. - The hotel was a 10 to 15 minute walk away from the Antwerp Expo. Now to the bad parts: - The room was poorly maintained. The wardrobe was chipped in multiple places, the sink had a crack running through it and the faucet was very loose. - The room was unbearably hot and humid. If I had to guess it was 26C with a humidity of 70%. It didn't have an AC, just a vent that blew air into the room and it didn't have openable windows. - The worst part however was on my first night around 10/11 PM. I was laying in bed with just my boxers (due to the heat) listening to music when suddenly the room service entered the room. I don't know if he knocked or not since I was wearing headphones. He kept asking me if I called for room service to which I replied I didn't expecting him to leave. He didn't. He kept asking about three more times if I needed anything until I escorted him out the room and locked the door. I considered switching hotels twice but couldn't be bothered and tolerated my stay there. The next time I'll be in Antwerp for a convention I definitely won't be staying there.

Very good hotel but...

Very glad of the room. Very comfortable. Too bad they don't provide water bottles as they did before. The hotel has an eco-program: when you don't need the towels to be changed daily, put a sign on the door in the evening and you get a 5€ voucher the next day. The idea is great but, one recurring problem is that they repeatedly "forget" to deliver the voucher. So, if you stay there for say, three nights, and follow the rule, you get only one voucher. I mention this because it happened several times. Apart of that, it's a good place to stay.

Great parking as needed secure parking. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Room was great size but air con was poor, only working on full fan and then very poor cooling. Breakfast was varied but no one kept an eye on replenishing the hot breakfast items.

Great hotel

This was our second stay at this hotel, it has been renovated since last time and it was absolutely amazing, we had a great stay, got a complimentary upgrade and received great service from the staff. Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Antwerp.

Great overnight stay on my journey from Denmark to the UK. Everything was really great. At arrival I was at first a bit disappointed to find that their parking spaces were full and that I had to go find one outside the hotel, but parking was very easy to come by on the streets outside the hotel and it’s free.

Sleep like a baby

The room is great. I skipped breakfast which is outrageously expensive although it is the same as in the Ibis budget. Breakfast was outstanding until 2021. I'll be back.
