I was given instructions to find security to check in. I had trouble finding security, there were 2 sides of the apartments and no clear signs. Bathroom and kitchen dirty and mouldy, mouse faeces on the sink under the dishrack, shower mouldy- felt the need to clean it myself. The kitchenette included only a fridge and microwave, there was enough plates/cups/cutlery. Cleaning was irregular- I had to find a cleaner and ask her to clean the room- my room got cleaned once in the 12 nights I stayed there. I was there during the Christmas break so maybe there were public holidays for cleaners. There was no room information . There were no laundry facilities. The location was good, close to shops and markets and opposite a taxi rank. The television didn't work at all. The air conditioner did work. There were mosquito screens on the windows. Other guests were noisy and there was no noise policy. A lot of kids hang around the front selling items as well, and hassle guests. My best advice to people staying here is to buy your own cleaning products and clean your own room.

One good thing is I like our room, is big but everything else is no good. We check in on Sunday in the afternoon, we got to the apartment and we can't find the reception. We look around, we go through the back still no one. Then this Chinese came, she stay at the apartment, then we ask her if she had any idea where we could find the reception because we want to check in, so she took us at the second level, knock on one of the door and this Fijian lady opens the door and ask what we want, and we said we suppose to check in today, then she took us to our room. Two days we stayed at our room, no one ever come and service our room, so I went and ask them if they service our room and they said ok. We came back to our room at night, still look the same. We stayed there for 4 days, never serviced the room, we buy our own towels and our own toilet paper. The air cons remote never work so we have to use the main switch to turn it on and off. Never ever stay there again, bad bad service, no good.

The check in was awesome. The whole time I was there ..our sheets were not changed. The towels never changed. We had to buy towels and toiletries. The noise was not good. Parking sucked.

Affordable accommodation next to Fugalei market

Very affordable and within walking distance to the shops and markets in central Apia. The room was very clean and was occupied with a fridge, microwave and a toaster. We opted for a family room and this was equipped with 3 queen and 1 single sized bed situated in an open living space. Overall, we were very pleased with the value for money that we got.

The fan and air condition were so dusts. I had to cover my mouth every time I sleep while the fan on. Both fan&air condition had to switch off when eating because the food would cover by dusts. Once the fan spin dusts spread all around the room I can actually felt dusts on my body hair. Sometime coughing due to the dusts Aircondition! What air condition? I didnt feel any cool even the air con was turn on to the maximum level. I informed the administration to service my room everyday it never did and their reactions when I asked to service my room show little encouragement. I got pictures of both fan & aircondition with dusts sticks over. I'll upload them later when I have data. Guests to provide their own soaps,shampoo,toilet papers.

We used the same towels and bed sheets through the whole 5 days. Mosquitos and roaches were present. No hot water during the late hours. TV reception is really bad. Nobody on duty except a security guard who doesnt have a list of the guest. I had friends come and look for me but was told if you dont know the room number then you cannot go up. That's understandable but at least he could have come up and ask if we knew those people who travelled from the faraway villages to meet us. Then to top it all off...I paid nearly USD$90 online for 2 nights out of the 5 and they charged me WST360 during check in for the remaing balance for 3 days whcich totals 5 days. WST360 = USD$136. The hotel took my payment in their currency and gave me a receipt. They still charged my card that I used on Hotels.com which screwed up my budget for the week. So not happy right now. This is the first time I was screwed over by a hotel in Apia and Hotels.com.

Service and facilities

-no room service only when ask -have to ask for towers -guests supply their own shower products like soaps, toilet papers etc -room air condition was terrible. The remote kept breaking down due to cheap battries and cant feel any cool -the front desk is a shop counter. It has no proper office for guests -the fan has so much dusts. dusts spread around the room when turn on the fan need to clean everyday -the guests foyer was so dark hardly seen due to lack of light days and nights -no elevator or lift for guests only steps. Guests carry heavy bags to the second floor -guests use the same entry as workers who are leasing other rooms on the ground and second floor

I didn't pay a lot so I wasn't expecting luxury, but I was disappointed that the only kitchen equipment was a jug for heating water and a microwave. I expect an apartment to have something more than that, allowing for some degree of self-catering. But a microwave is really not very useful in a place like Samoa. No hot water in the mornings, but a warm shower was possible later in the day.

Very central and reasonably priced

While basic, everything worked and there was plenty of hot water with the option of preparing a microwave meal. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful

Worst Hotel we have ever stayed in.

We were greeted by a lady who handed us the keys to our room. She then told us to drive around to the other side of the building to the front entrance. We had to carry our bags up several flights of stairs, the room was on the third floor - with no lift or elevator. I give them credit for helping with our bags although that was the last time we saw anybody from the hotel. During our whole stay, of one week, our room was never serviced. The photo of the room on the website was completely different from reality. There was no free parking. The only time there was parking was at the end of the day when the store below was closed. Anytime during the day when you left your room, there was no parking when you returned during store hours.

Clean room in the center of Apia

Nia Mall Apartments are located above Nia Mall Shopping complex. Keys to the room are received from inside the store. There is no lobby, concierge, or daily maintenance of the room. That being said, the room itself is great. It is equipped with fridge, microwave, water heater, and air conditioning. The location is great, right in the center of the city with multiple food and shopping options. If you need a comfortable room to stay without the other luxuries, this is a great find.
