Seamless check in and friendly staff. We did half board and was totally worth it. The dining had great food and food options. The pool area and beach were also quiet and quite nice.

Great hotel with some beach improvements

Solid hotel. Great staff. They did their best and the food was very good. Once they make the beach in man made fashion with less rocks, it will be a true five star. I appreciate it takes time to make beaches more user friendly and look forward to seeing how it improves. Wish them well and look forward to seeing the improvements over time! Our stay at La Mer resort was a great surprise! We arrived quite late, after midnight and still had a pleasant reception. Everything was ready for us and we even got unexpected drinks with some fruits and a sandwiches. The room was clean, modern with great bed and warm shower. All we needed at that time. Everything was as described in the web site and I risk to say, above our expectation. Spacious restaurant with a large variety for all tastes and a nice view to the outside. All architecture and decoration is nice,with large windows so that you are always looking to the outside. We hired a car at Chania airport and unless you are considering to stay all your time at the hotel, which is possible, I do recommend to hire a car to explore the island. Finally, the service, the best we ever had. All staff, without exception, very friendly and helpful, always greeting you with a smile in the face.

Unser Aufenthalt war perfekt. Zimmer und Betten waren hervorragend, das Frühstück top, Pool und Strand ebenfalls. Sehr gut gefallen hat uns zudem der ökologische, nachhaltige Ansatz. Die Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen waren ebenfalls sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Très beau site près de la mer. La chambre n’est pas très grande mais super bien disposée avec vue sur la mer et le lit est très confortable.

Nice and comfortable hotel, but not worth the price. Check-in is weird: employee gives you a QR-code and you do your own check-in, while they wait... They also decided to start cleaning the room one hour before official check-out time, even if we were not ready. For the dinner buffet, water not included in the price (it comes free with every meal everywhere else on the island). Altogether definitely not worth the price.

La vue depuis la chambre est magnifique mais pas d’ombre le matin sur le balcon. Chambre magnifique et très design mais il n’y a pas d’armoire, placard ou tiroir pour les habits, juste une grande penderie (tringle) pour des ceintres. La piscine est magnifique et les transats très sympas. Malheureusement il n’y a pas assez de places (plage ou piscine) pour le nombre de chambres, il faut réserver sa place très tôt, sinon il n’y aura aucun endroit où se poser et il faut attendre pour le cas ou quelqu’un partirait. La plage est en gros cailloux, la mer est donc difficile d’accès, chaussures indispensables. La nourriture est très bonne et le buffet (demi-pension) est très varié. Le personnel est très attentif et sympathique.

Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt und unseren Aufenthalt im La Mer sehr genossen. Es ist eine sehr schöne, schlicht edle und moderne Unterkunft. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen oder auch die Speisen an der Poolbar waren sehr lecker. Der Fitnessbereich (Indoor und Outdoor) ist zwar überschaubar, lässt aber keine Wünsche offen. Die Lage fanden wir auch sehr gut. Zwar ist der hoteleigene Privatstrand ein Kiesstrand, aber ein langer Sandstrand ist in 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Genau wie ein Supermarkt oder diverse Autovermietungen. Die einzigen 2 "Kritikpunkte", die wir haben, sind, dass der Pool ziemlich warm ist (immer Geschmackssache, aber für uns war es keine Erfrischung) und dass es im Zimmer keinen geschlossenen Kleiderschrank gibt. Lediglich ein paar Fächer und eine Garderobenstange. Das ist aber "meckern" auf hohem Niveau. Wir würden das Hotel La Mer wirklich jedem bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Lovely 4 night stay on a solo trip. The staff were excellent and everyone I met went out of their way to give good service. The hotel is modern and the pool area and beach are lovely. Swim shoes are a must for the beach. The food was tasty and lots of variety. A typical buffet so warm rather than hot. The food at the beach was good value, as were the drinks. Spa treatments are very expensive so I didn’t book. The rooms are comfortable and very functional but not 5* luxury. I found it adequate as a solo traveller, but felt it would be cramped if another person was in the room.

Sehr schöne Adult Only Unterkunft mit modernen Zimmern mit eigenen Whirlpool auf der Terrasse. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles wirkt modern. Es ist auch ein kleiner künstlicher Strand vorhanden sowie eine Sauna. Das Essen war ausreichend und gut. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit vor Ort.

Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage. Frühstück und Service war sehr gut und umfangreich. Der Strandabschnitt gefiel uns nicht und das DZ Meersicht war eher klein, es störte nicht weiter, da wir nur kurz da waren.

Sauberkeit in den Zimmern und auf der Anlage ist ein riesiges Problem. In den Ecken im Zimmer waren überall Krümel, Asseln und Haare. Am ersten Tag wurden wir in der Dusche erst einmal von einem Haarbüschel am Abfluss begrüßt, welcher nach einer Beschwerde und anschließender erneuter Reinigung noch immer nicht entfernt wurde. Als Entschuldigung schenkte man uns je Person einen 25 min Spa-Gutschein, was nett war. Unser Zimmer lag direkt vor einem Feld mit verrottenden Melonen und Schafen darauf - interessante Geruchskombination. Auch die Anlage ist nicht sehr sauber. Überall Vogelfedern, als wäre dort ein Vogel-Massaker veranstaltet worden. In der Gym hatte viele Geräte (z.T. gefährliche) Defekte und waren verrostet. Die ganze Anlage wirkt heruntergekommen und wird den Bildern auf der Webseite oder den Reiseportalen in keinerlei Weise gerecht. Das Personal war immer freundlich, nett und zu Späßen bereit. Leider endete der Service aber oft schon kleinsten Sonderwünschen. Korkenzieher aufs Zimmer - bitte an der Bar abholen. Ein Cocktail der nicht auf der Karte steht? Nicht möglich. Einzig das Spa (Massagen) war eine echte positive Überraschung. Wird können das leider Hotel überhaupt nicht empfehlen.

Très bel hôtel en bord de mer

Nous avons passé un bon séjour à La Mer. Chambre propre et design. La piscine et l'accès direct à la mer sont très agréables. Le petit déjeuner est varié et bon. Les coktails et le restaurant sont chers pour la crête. Le personnel n'est pas toujours aimable.. mais dans l'ensemble l'hôtel est très beau et très agréable. -2 nuits, chambre vue sur mer en couple-
