The Summer Beach hotel is tired,badly in need of repairs,refurbishment. On arrival we were charged tax of €10 per night payable immediately and use of the safe was a further €4 per day.
The whole complex is open to the road for anyone to access and reception is the best chance of getting Wi-Fi connection, not available in our room, very intermittent in public areas.
Our “superior”room (502) was slightly below the ground floor & in a dark corner. Room door had no secondary lock. Large room, sparsely furnished. Nowhere to sit apart from the bed.Terrace had patio table and two chairs, no privacy to next door. The area was dirty,constantly wet with dripping aircon & view of a damp mud slope. Little natural light,windows curtained but no mosquito screens,no nets, so always kept curtains,windows closed. Our room in a dark corner with ineffective overhead light. Fixed within the hour when reported. Bathroom -taps and shower hose were fitted at waist height with no bracket at a higher point. The small shower screen was at the other end of the shower tray resulting in a very wet bathroom. Bed was comfortable.Pool area nice, with lots of loungers. Nice bar,small variety of free drinks,limited hours. Nice staff.Public areas & room clean.Food -dining room was a huge style canteen place across the road from the complex. Drinks served by waiting staff,food self service from a good hot/cold buffet. Staff were lovely.
Overall the hotel looked neglected and more like a 2* ☹️
