Jun 6, 2019if you're in the area, it's worth doing the hike, but even at the closest vista point, you really only see a lava flow and the side of the volcano, so don't really get to see the crater as much as we had hoped.

Apr 22, 2019I highly recommend the day hike. The morning is quite strenuous, but the guide took frequent stops. You get the closest legal view of the volcano, hike through the forest and the volcanic rocks. The second half of the day was around the grounds of the observatory with an evening at the Tabacon river with the locals! Quite an experience.
