Great place next to gates of Arusha National Park

We want to thank the team for three great nights at Hatari Lodge. After 2 weeks on Sansibar we had these days on mainland in Tansania for some safari. The Hotel is 90 min. from both airports Arusha and Kilimanjaro distance. The driver picked us on Arusha airport and brought us via the National Park to the Hotel. The welcome was very friendly, all staff was great and helpful (thanx to Tilman and his team). Dinner and Breakfast were superb (taste the fresh porridge with some fruits). We had wonderful nights within a nice and romantic room with an open fire (ask for this rooms, there seem to be some without fireplace). At the first night we had a big family of friendly monkeys in the garden and on top of the buildings (great sound of many small paws jumping around on the roof :-), but the monkeys disappeared at second day. Mayby they were displaced, because they rottend also in the small vegetable garden behind the main building and dig everything there. The sightseeing platform was great for the sundowner at 6:30. Some Giraffes and Warthogs were around, and watching two young Giraffes playing and fighting was very nice. Buffalos from far at back came with the darkness near, so that we were able to hear them breathing and eating, but could hardly see them. We booked 3 full day tours –all very nice and. There were a lot of different animals, but don´t expect too many of them. We had 1 Elephant, and as far as I understood, there are no lions around. All in all a great experience!
