“The apartment was really well located. Close to canals but not directly in the busy centre. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and 15 minutes walk to rail station and near bus stop for Costa Nova. Inside was recently refurbished. Bed was comfy. More thought required for kitchen- corkscrew but no wine glasses, good knives but tiny chopping board, espresso cups but no coffee maker. Toilet would be a challenge for large people.”

Just make sure they know when you are approximately arriving so they are there to greet you. “We had a great time at Aalma da Ria. It’s about 10 minutes from Aveiro with the car. There is a main house, with kitchen and common spaces, and then there are the lodges. Ours had 2 sleeping rooms, bathroom, and a small pantry with microwave and coffee machine. The houses are within a green area that includes a pool. Mariana was so nice and helpful. Everyday she prepared us a huge breakfast she was so nice and attentive. Highly recommended.”
