The service was as good as, if not better than, any hotel we have ever stayed at…anywhere. The hotel has old world grandeur and luxury that we really appreciated, with wonderful restaurants and bars. This hotel was cruising towards a very good review based on strong performances for staff in reception, portering, concierge, bar and restaurant until the proverbial 'car crash' happened. This event is one of my greatest irritations with hotels. The event was closing the bar for a private event. I was directed to the terrace bar on a cold and windy evening! Awful experience!
